I've played a lot of this game, so obviously I've gotten enjoyment out of it. However, I cannot recommend it in its current state. The game keeps crashing right after I launch it. Usually it will work on relaunch, but it's currently very unstable. I have hardly any decorations placed and the game is no longer in Early Access, but I can't do anything to increase the stability of the game. I would recommend waiting for bug fixes.

It's less than an hour later and I'm updating my review because the game has disappointed me yet again. While it didn't crash again, there's a bug where sometimes quest items cannot be placed. I have found in previous times that reloading the game will make it work again, but chances are I will encounter multiple more bugs after reloading yet again. This is the current Dreamlight Valley experience. Hopefully the update next week will fix it, but every update seems to add more bugs than it fixes, so I would not buy this game during the Summer Sale and especially not at full price. The current state of the game is nearly unplayable.

Update: I just tried the new update and while they added some cool items, my game crashed twice within 1.5 hours. I still do not recommend purchasing the game at this time.

Cute and quirky! It definitely lives up to the first one. I have not quite finished playing it yet, but I have romanced Grace and Rhapsody, and am partway through Domino's route. I love the Defunctland reference to "Homosexual Fast Dancing", which is totally what inspired me to give this a positive review. This game somehow manages to stay upbeat, despite addressing difficult topics such as suicide and depression. The UI is great. Skipping and saving are easy, which lends itself nicely to doing multiple routes without too much repetition. I would absolutely recommend playing the first Arcade Spirits before The New Challengers though, as you can import your save for some nice Easter Eggs. All in all, a very enjoyable visual novel.

A beautiful game about grief, featuring beautiful imagery, and catchy music. I originally played it back in February, but went back later in September to get the achievements I was missing. It instantly brought to mind how much I enjoyed this game, despite the sad themes. I would wholeheartedly recommend it!

This game is dreadful. You can play the exact same bridge multiple times and different things will break every time. If your PC is too quick, the wind is too powerful and it actually makes levels more difficult to beat. Basically, it's gotten harder since it came out. I'm not much of a physicist, but it's easy to see that the physics are bogus. The controls are frustrating. Selecting the items you want is frustrating. It's often easier to rebuild an entire section of the bridge rather than change one element. Getting 100% achievements was a nightmare, and in no way enjoyable. I would highly recommend you DO NOT buy this game.

The game currently stutters so bad that it's frustrating to play. I would not currently recommend the PC version as a result.

The game looks super cute, but I basically gave up on it because the controls on PC are dreadful. As far as I can tell, they don't mention that a controller is recommended until you actually open the game. For people who don't own or prefer to play with controllers, this can be a deal breaker. There's no cursor support, everything seems to be done with the keyboard and it's very un-intuitive. I can't speak to how good the game is beyond the tutorial or PC controls, but I would currently not recommend it if you are planning on playing with a mouse and keyboard.

I must admit that I was slightly disappointed by the length of the game, as it was slightly less than three hours long. However, I have been told that I'm a fast reader, and I typically play branching Visual Novels. Keep in mind that this is more of a Kinetic Visual Novel with the occasional choice asking your opinions on the mystery. I'm not sure if it's possible to fail. Every other facet of the game is wonderful though. Literally my only complaint is that I wish it had been longer. The story is engaging, the artwork is beautiful, and the UI is easy and intuitive. Like all Hanako Games, it has a skip feature, gallery, and other inclusions you would expect from a Visual Novel. The mini game is simple, but I enjoyed it, as it was a nice way to break up the text. I didn't notice any bugs or typos, which was impressive, considering I played on release day. Overall, it was a cute, but short game that I would recommend! Maybe wait for a sale if you are looking for a better ratio for money spent to hours played, but definitely keep Night Cascades on your radar!

I was very impressed by Everlasting Summer. At first it just seems like an average visual novel, albeit good for a free one. However, in repeated play-throughs more and more is slowly revealed. It didn't quite click for me until the last run or so, but I was pleasantly surprised when it did. The writing is pretty good, although the translation is occasionally a bit oddly worded. I would have liked a bit more character development as they seemed a bit flat at times though. The art is gorgeous and includes CGs. In fact, all of the features I would expect a good visual novel to possess are there. You can skip, save and load with ease, and the UI is well designed. I liked it enough that I'll likely check out any paid visual novels the developer releases in the future. Overall, I would highly recommend giving Everlasting Summer a try!

This game is filled with bugs that the developers don't care enough to fix. They occasionally add seasonal events to make it look as if they're still active, but they don't fix anything. The game itself is also pretty tedious, even when it does work.
