After putting nearly 70 hours into this game, I have decided I really can't recommend it. In the beginning, I would have said "Yes! Play this game! It's great! It's fun and beautiful!" But now that I've beaten the main story-line, I decided that it really hasn't been worth it.

The upside: Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and the surrounding areas are beautiful. The main storyline was pretty fun to play, and some of the other character storylines were fun.

The downside: This game is really buggy, and there are a lot of game-breaking bugs that have been reported since the game was launched that still have not been patched. I quit playing because after 60 hours in, I had one of the game-breaking bugs that I was not aware had happened, and now I'm stuck. I can no longer collect certain items, catch certain beasts, nor unlock several achievements. I checked the bug reporting website to find that this bug has been ongoing since launch, yet there has been no patch nor has a workaround been found. I can often be forgiving of some bugs or glitches (as they can be humorous at times), but bugs that ruin a 66 hour playthrough are not acceptable.

Additionally, the game begins to get highly repetitive toward the end of the game, and there is virtually no post-storyline content. Sure, you could farm achievements or finish the Merlin trials (which there are waaaay too many), but there's really no point in doing that. Especially when your character gets locked out of completing those things by the aforementioned game-breaking bugs.

TLDR; the game is pretty, but that doesn't make up for the fact that there are unpatched, game-breaking bugs, repetitive gameplay, and no post-storyline content.

I absolutely love this game. It's fun, relaxing, and the story is interesting, told in a creative way. I've found myself replaying levels just because I enjoyed them.

I have enjoyed it so far, but also haven't gotten very far. It's a pretty standard Monster Hunter game. There is some quality of life changes that make it alright, but it's not really any different than any other iteration of this game. The one downside that I've seen so far from MH:World is that the keyboard and mouse controls for this game are awful. The controls for KB+M are not intuitive, half of the controls never work at all, and it took so long to troubleshoot the controls, that I ended up just going out and buying an Xbox controller to play the game. KB+M controls were never a problem for me in World, but in Rise, they are just plain terrible.
