Base game is worth it 100% but you can usually find it with all the trappings of DLC for like $8 and it's plenty worth it. Stands the test of time despite its age.

Worth it even if you only play for an hour honestly

WHY NOT

After playing this game a whole bunch, I'm changing my review a little bit. This is definitely still a fantastic game, and it still is best played with friends, but there a lot of issues with it. The devs seem very good at patching game-breaking glitches or offering work-arounds for those glitches. Loading times are pretty long, and sometimes finding a match can be exhausting. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to matchmaking, and that can sorta ♥♥♥♥ you over if you're playing with people who are just figuring out the game as there is no in game voice or text chat, just pre and post game. There's a pretty big learning curve just in general for the game, and the second perk slot takes a lot of playing to unlock.

That's a lot of complaints, I know, but I do enjoy the game. It's always improving, and the perks/offerings always keep things unpredictable. If you're a fan of survival/horror games, you will enjoy it both because of and despite all of its frustrating nuances.
