Decently fun for the first few hours, but the lack of variation quickly catches up. The game is listed as early access, but I've had it for almost two years and the devs have added pretty much nothing. Real shame too, game has a lot of potential, but it's basically dead in the water at this point.

EDIT: The developer of the game is actively trying to remove negative reviews from the store page, instead of updating the game. DO NOT give your money to this mf.

Still worth a laugh, and still just as tense and rewarding as it was 7 years ago

One of my personal favorite strategy games, for it's simplicity, fluid gameplay, and unique mechanics. The campaign, while short, is good for at least a dozen playthroughs with different difficulties, abilities, and commanders to keep the gameplay loop interesting.
After awhile it does get a bit dull, but the first few playthroughs are really magical, and I can't recommend it enough.

If this review was based solely on the story and singleplayer aspect of the game, It would certainly receive a positive review from me, though the technical issues are too severe and too plentiful to overlook. The game can look great and usually runs well, though the constant crashing is unbearable. Sometimes the game will crash because too many character models loaded in at once, and other times it crashes for no reason. I honestly cannot recommend this game in it's current state, though, if Rockstar ever patches the issues I've mentioned, I'd be happy to leave a positive review. Also, while I'm here, the online is ♥♥♥♥.

While the game can be very entertaining, there are numerous flaws such as the horribly done multiplayer where invaders will almost always get ganked unless they're twinking, and the unimaginably awful connection. The level design is a step down from the first two games. It's fairly linear and not very open-eneded. Perhaps if the game dropped to $40 I would reccomend but the $60 they ask you to fork up isn't really worth what the game gives you. 2/5

I've seen this games ups and downs through the many years I've had it, and while it certainly has seen better days, it's still great in it's current state. You'll always be able to find a match for the game modes you want and there's always room for improvement, you never feel as though you've reached a cap on how well you can play. The community is what makes this game interesting with the community servers new maps and modes can be found, introducing variety should the base game become stale. The same, however, cannot be said for the developers. It's been nearly two years since the last massive update, and weapon balances seem to be introduced less and less. This lack of weapon balancing has dealt a massive blow to the competitive community. Competitive is almost unplayable in it's current state, as there are very few players who use the competitive mode, and those who do have to deal with the poor balances for classes. At least one Scout, Soldier, Demoman, and Medic, are required to have a serious chance against other teams, leaving very little chance for specialist classes like Heavy or Engineer to be used. The game simply works better as a 12 vs 12 rather than a 6 vs 6. The community for the most part is very welcoming, though it is difficult for a new player to get into the game quickly, as many items that are considered meta must be unlocked through random drops. The skill based matchmaking is very poor and often matches new players against seasoned veterans. The tutorial in place is teaches very little about the game, and barely works in it's current state. If you're a new player planning on getting into the game, use tutorials online, and try to use custom training maps found on community servers.
