Hard to say what others haven't already written.

Story is fantastic; the game almost encourages you to find the grey areas in your thinking and decision making. Don't want to do this, but also don't want to do that, but maybe only a little? Sure, the game will let you. It's fun seeing through how many layers you can make a scenario play out. Exploration is always rewarded.

A downside is that when you set an objective for yourself, you pretty much always wind up getting sidetracked on something else.

Fantastic language puzzle game. At one point the long running distances felt a little annoying when you've already worked the puzzle out in your head a while back and you have to run from point a-b-a a few times to do the physical solving but otherwise love it.

The original and best! With a bit of tweaking and a texture pack it looks and plays amazingly well on modern systems.

Seems like a gaming bargain at a 70% sale.

A continuation of L4D with modern shooter gunplay, weapon mods, more interesting pickups, currency to spend mid mission like in CS:GO and a card system that helps randomise missions.

Plus it looks amazing and runs perfectly. Can't go wrong at £15!

Thoroughly enjoyed the campaign, even though it ends rather abruptly and isn't particuarly long. However, the gameplay is very engaging and you always feel like you have a million different options at your disposal. Deserts of Kharak is a masterclass in audio design; the voice acting, ambient noise, sound effects and music all come together to create an atmosphere you can lose yourself in. The cut scenes are really cinematic and Blackbird Interactive manage to do so much without fancy pre-rendered scenes. The little snippets of what I think might be rotoscoped (digitally) actors look awesome.

Downsides:

-The performance is a bit choppy when there's lots of units on the map, even with a high end machine.
-Both 'races' have the same units, just with different designs.
-Normal difficulty is quite easy and the superweapons + air support you have access to make you feel a little overpowered.

It'd be nice if the game received some sort of expansion, but then I also wonder in what direction they could take it.
