Don't buy it (yet), it's overpriced for what it currently offers and performance is unacceptable. Needs another year or two of development.

Compared to other games in this series, I can't recommend this one. The setting and environment is great, but the gameplay, dialogue and plot isn't. There is way too much exploration and platforming for this type of game. Don't expect to sit back, relax and make meaningful choices; instead you have to spend most of your time walking around a confusing, maze-like hotel, crawling through holes and solving repetive 'puzzles'. It's often way too dark and you're carrying the worst flashlight ever.
Dialogue feels minimal, characters often just stay silent when important things happen. Plot isn't anything special, mostly a bunch of people making stupid horror movie choices that you can't even influence very much.

More action than horror. It lacks the subtlety and scary atmosphere that the movie has. If you're looking for a game version of the original movie, this is not it. In-your-face monsters, jumpscares with loud noises, explosions, gun shots... Just another modern failure in the Blair Witch franchise. The developers don't seem to understand what made the Blair Witch Project great.

However, I commend the dog Bullet. A very fun and well implemented gameplay mechanic.
