Phenomenally a true return to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. roots. 100% recommend playing on Veteran. Plenty of times I've been surprised by the AI.

HOWEVER. As much as I am liking it already, I cannot recommend playing it right now.
Though a large amount of the issues reviewers mentioned are fixed/better.... There are massive issues with stuttering.

Started out fine running the game fine on high with some ultra settings. Then hit the first settlement and the stutters sky-rocketed. And would not recover no matter how far away I got from the town.
Desperately needs to have some optimization. Even dropping graphics to LOW it would not stop stuttering.
The rig I'm using currently is a 13900, 32GB DDR5, RTX 4070.

Game good. I look like a viking wizard. It's great. 11/10.

Went from a reasonably great game to a can of worms opening doorways to a dangerous future in modding and gaming.
