I would like to preface this review by saying that I have very much enjoyed playing this game, but right now I cannot say that I would sincerely recommend it in its current state for full price. It is definitely many steps ahead of the vast majority of horse games available right now and the developers seem very passionate about the game, so I am confident that it will improve over time. The devs do not deserve much of the hate they are receiving, but some criticism is warranted right now. Once this game is patched to a more stable state, I will amend this review.

TL;DR: The game is cute, cozy, fun, and miles ahead of most horse games but lacks some gameplay features and replayability. This paired with some of the game-breaking glitches have given me mixed feelings about whether or not I would recommend it to anyone.

I am going to start off with my pros and cons for the game so far!

Pros:
- Beautiful, large open world
- Horses are well animated and modeled
- Story and side missions are straight forward, making it a very chill experience
- Good sound design
- Most resources are easily found and collected (almost no incessant grinding!)
- Racing is pretty fun
- Coat variations make breeding interesting
- Horses have their own personality traits, likes, dislikes, and fears

Cons:
- The world feels incredibly empty due to a lack of NPCs (the only present NPCs are the ones important to the story)
- The camera is floaty and a bit difficult to get used to
- No option to change keybindings or camera settings
- Movement and jumping feels inconsistent at times
- Character clothing and horse tack cannot be customized until the story is nearly over
- Resources for breeding can be a bit tedious to obtain (looking at you, peppermints)
- No fast travel system (there is an option to teleport back to the estate from anywhere on the map, but being able to fast travel to the village farthest from the estate would be nice)
- No minimap (makes navigation a bit difficult since the world is so big)
- Horses randomly become stressed for no reason
- Saved games disappear out of nowhere
- Very little replayability

Overall, my issues with this game are mostly to do with the mechanics and some gameplay problems. The world and horses are well designed and aesthetically pleasing, so props for that! However, the lack of customizable keybinds and camera settings is a bit disappointing. I would also very much like a minimap and some sort of fast travel system. I love riding around the map on my ponies as much as anyone, but when you have to run all the way across the map multiple times for a story mission it feels a bit tiring. I do appreciate the ability to fast travel to the estate from anywhere though! The movement also feels a little clunky at times (especially while galloping) which can make some races frustrating. The lack of replayability is also something that has stuck out to me. I have finished the game in its entirety and just mess around with breeding now, but I have no desire to replay the story again. I usually have the drive to replay games like this multiple times, but with this one I have not felt that way despite how much I have enjoyed it.

I really wish I could give this game a glowing review because I have had a lot of fun playing it, it has been a very relaxing way to pass the time! I hope the devs can get it polished and patched up nicely so I can amend this review - it is truly a diamond in the rough in the world of equestrian games.

Game is challenging but not to the point where it would cause someone to rage quit. With friends it brings the need for a strategy in the later parts of the game, which makes it even more fun. 10/10 would recommend if you have 3 other people to play through the game with.

How can you negatively review a putt-putt golf multiplayer game.

The story is lacking, but this game was a blast to play with a friend.

The bugs in this game are actually extremely entertaining, can't complain.

This game is awesome. Love playing this game with my friends, especially when I get to play as Brogyver and kill all of us by justy spamming the crap out of the dynamite.

Amazing.

Originally played this game on console way back, but the amount of fun that I had caused me to buy the game and all of the DLC again here on Steam. This game is a joy to play, and is a great looter-shooter.

Hate Claptrap tho

This game is a fun way to kill time, while still having to think about what you are doing.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time playing this game.

Story is kind of lackluster, but this game is still fun to play with a friend.

Honestly the bugs are what makes it the most fun.

Online is full of modders, but still fun.

Everything costs too much in-game, which causes people to mod.

Still a fun way to screw around with your friends, don't need the fastest cars to have a good time
