Just about everything in this game is awesome. The crash physics, the handling, the customisability, the modding, all around awesome game and would absolutely recommend

Terraria isn't my type of game, but that doesn't mean that it isn't an excellent game. With a lot of attention to detail, a boatload of content and awesome times in multiplayer, I can understand exactly why people love this game.

This is a really awesome game to play with your friends, although playing solo is also really satisfying.

I enjoy all the little things too, like the sedan and turns out you can (only just) lift it onto the back of a truck using the crane, which is really fun. You can squish pumpkins, mushrooms and pull down weak trees.

If it was just a game where you transported logs from part A to part B, it would be a less than average game. But because of the very realistic and satisfying physics, aswell as just some of the little things I listed above as well as others that I forgot to mention, this game is extremely fun and I'd recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

Definitely brings a new look to a classic game without changing the overall aesthetic at all.

Also: Thanks for supporting Mac and SteamOS/Linux!

So far, I'm having quite the blast. I do think that gameplay can sometimes be a little dry, but this is an early access game and it's free so I'm very happy with it.

Oh, and it supports SteamOS/Linux, so there's that too!

10/10, very well done.

I was literally thinking about "What if they made a movie for Half-Life? It would make such a good movie plot." Then I thought "Oh yea, I have that Freeman Chronicles in my library, nearly forgot about that."

Just recorded a video on this game, I can definitely understand why it's the worst received F2P game listed on Steam that's currently available. Overwhelmingly negative, how do you ♥♥♥♥ up this bad?

Pros
  • Felt great to uninstall
  • HUD was alright, assuming it wasn't an asset grab
  • The graphics were alright, not impressive but 2005-esque graphics
  • Walking physics were kind of realistic
  • Main menu doesn't look too bad
  • Voice acting was really good, she had a nice voice

Cons
  • Meoterites falling from the sky and being hard to dodge felt more like "Whack a mole simulator 2017" where you play the mole
  • The menu screen text was blurred
  • DLC for just the next level? That just felt like a cash grab.
  • Background images for the menu screens were not even 1080p, let alone 4K like they should've been in 2017.
  • Movement felt 'sluggish' and there was no sprint option
  • How do you even pick up the multimeter at the closest checkpoint? It needs to tell you when you get to it
  • The game shouldn't throw you in the deep end and make you run for 6 minutes to find the closest multimeter
  • The Mars DLC is broken and about as unfinished as they come. The loading screen was underground, it felt exactly the same as moon without the same textures. Even the voice lines and the story was exactly the same
  • No, I didn't buy the Mars DLC. As someone else suggested, press E on Mars and it instantly unlocks[/b! Developers should never leave internal features in like that.
  • The Credits screen is disgusting. It has no filter, shows what appears to be an untextured helmet with a low resolution screenshot for a background, and it took an i7-4790 paired with a GTX 950 about 2-3 seconds to load. A CREDIT SCREEN.

Those were the most notable of the negatives, there were a few more but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

Conclusion
While the concept for this game was great, having the idea of a player crashing on the moon and needing to find their way to safety, it was very poorly executed. It was so poorly executed the only reason I downloaded, recorded and played this was purely because it was the worst[/h1] available Steam game by user reviews. How does one stuff up this badly?

To give some positivity amongst this, the voice acting was really nice and I would like to see more of that voice acting, and provided that the assets weren't from the local asset store, were nicely decorated and show that effort took place.

This game should never have been released in such an early and buggy state, just like Windows 10's launch but 10x worse.

Early Access Review
A while back, I wrote a review for this game. I stated that it needed a lot of time invested into fixing multiplayer and bugs that ranged from minor physic errors to entire game crashes. Since then, the game has been a lot more stable and crashes really only occur if you overload the game with major brick structures in multiplayer.

When I wrote my original review, I wanted the following.

  • Multiplayer needs major improvements. The server browser needs the ping column fixed, multiplayer gameplay is alright until you get disconnected 5 minutes later because of an unreliable outgoing buffer and respawning when another player is already at the spawn point results in a war of Backspace mashing.
  • On the Canyon map, there's water. How beautiful, I'll go for a skinny dippi-- Oh.. it's not water. I can walk right through it like it's air.
  • Needs more realistic manual driving (not a major issue). You should be able to use the engine as a brake and you shouldn't be able to lower your revs while going 300km/h in 1st gear, the engine should normally explode by that point.

I understand that my review is one of 1,749 reviews, so I don't expect my review to be read by the developer. However, multiplayer has been majorly improved, but the ping column still displays a hyphen instead of an actual ping. Other than that, you do get the occasional kick but nothing like it used to be.

Water still is the same density as air, so that's a bit of a shame. And manual driving hasn't changed which is rather unfortunate.

On the plus side, it is tremendously fun and that's the thing that's keeping the game growing. Do whatever you want, go for a drive across the Canyon map, get on a rail with a train, or just plain shoot everything.

The biggest problem
There is one problem though that really sticks out for me. There is no SteamOS/Linux support. And it's a real shame, because I'm not going to install Windows just to play this game, and I don't want to install Wine because then I expose a security weakness in my system, one of the main reasons I switched to Ubuntu

Update: It's been a long time since I made the below review. Linux support is pretty much 100% working. Thanks Nelson!

---

I used to like this game, but now Linux support is so broken. The game only works on the main menu and Destruction. Every other map crashes after 2 seconds. Grass is also invisible.

My original review was this:
10/10 game, had lots of fun in it, one of the best demonstrations of an early access game and a truly dedicated developer
