so much polish in this game makes it hard to believe bethesda had a hand in it - even if it's just as a publisher

starfield is extremely entertaining for the first 60ish hours. all four faction questlines are entertaining and almost all side quests - especially the mantis - are great. but after you finish the main story and you begin ng+, starfield holds very little replay value. there is no gain to planet exploration - land somewhere, visit a location with a base that cycles between one of three or four pre-programmed layouts. none of your survey data means anything once ng+ starts.

despite all the criticism around the repetitiveness of the anti-gravity temples, i really enjoyed the booming music and the sparkle dust and whatever. but it could've been a lot like skyrim; doing the same search for a temple for a power you'll never use feels like extreme wasted potential.

plus -- loading screens every two seconds. bleh.

i love todd howard but it's extremely disappointing that bgs hyped up a new goty-level ip and it's... this. if fallout 5 and elder scrolls vi are like this too, i've lost a lot of faith in bethesda.

hoping microsoft never invests in dunkey and billy basso because this masterpiece doesn't deserve to be shuttered

it's really fun when you're playing it co-op. the co-op, the combat, and the traversal systems are fun and entertaining (especially boomerang and HQ) but everything else about this game kinda sucks. buy it on sale for like half off. good $40 game, not at all worth the $70-$100 it's priced at

one of the best survival games ever made. you'll probably ♥♥♥♥ yourself a couple times in panic though

smurfing, server health, and the removal of trading makes the game unplayable in its current state
