An updated Road Rash with rouge-lite elements. Great music.

The most basic description would be Diablo with a Marvel theme, and that really tells you all you need to know about how it plays. Ignore the meta-gaming about who's the "best" hero to play and just pick your favorite.
This game is very dangerous to have installed. I keep finding myself loading it up instead of working on my backlog. The heroes are so varied in playstyle that it's the most fun I've ever had leveling up alts. If you played this when it first came out (sans the 2015 part of the name) you owe it to yourself to try it again. They've made massive improvements since its launch. Most of the voice acting is great, and none of it is bad (some lines do get annoying due to repetition, but that happens in every game). The free-to-play element is really set up well. The only thing you'll really feel like you need to spend money is extra storage space, but the game is so well done that I don't begrudge them for it. Their hard work deserves to be rewarded somehow.
Update: Even more fun and addictive now. Some very intriguing changes going to happen soon too.
2017 Update: I'm still playing. I think the parts of the BUE we've already gotten was great, and am eagerly waiting for the rest of it (omega items). I've got over 1,200 hours put into the game, and while I've seen all the content (minus raids cause I generally don't like raids), I've still got more than a dozen characters I've not played, and still find myself pleasantly surprised. There's something very addictive about finding the right build that finally makes a character click for me. While the BUE wasn't all roses (it destroyed some very effective builds and some of the specializations for characters desperately need to be redone), I think it was overall a positive move, and much needed to keep the game fresh.
The game is no more cash shop focused than it used to be, and outside of cosmetic stuff everything can still be bought using in-game currency. The graphics are much better than they used to be; the realization that compressing files themselves gave much better results than letting the engine compress them was a breakthrough in that department.
A lot of the whining and doomsday predictions can be dismissed as a combination of gamer entitlement and comic fan entitlement, creating a perfect storm of whining that Gaz is terrible because they aren't showering them with a constant stream of free stuff.
