A pretty shabby 'upgrade' on the previous game. Refunded.

Edit: bought it again at £20 as I thought it might actually be worth that, but it's not. Playing on the steam deck docked with ps4 controller the left and right bumpers stop working suddenly for no reason so I can't actually do any farming (bit of a setback really). You can reorder so the deck controller is first in the settings but then the d-pad doesn't work. Luckily I can go back to FS22 as it's virtually the same game but the controller works okay with that.

You'd think a company who are known for making railway simulators would know how to spell 'gauge'. Anyway, this is basically a demo. And I wouldn't bother buying the full game. A new one will be out this year. That would be sarcasm if said about another game which has had a new release three months ago but it's the reality with Dovetail.

Like Black Desert, but without the good bits.

This and Doom were the games that got me into PC gaming in the mid 90s, albeit I was using a Mac! I installed it for nostalgia reasons but ended up getting hooked again. The gameplay is still fun and the satisfaction from splattering Pfhor with a assault rifle is as gooid as anything since. I just wish I could replay all those great third party maps made by the creative Mac community of the time.

On the comparison with Doom, I always thought this was the better game and assumed its lack of success was due to being a mac game initially. I think this one of the trilogy was actually ported to Windows.

I've tried to get into this game but nothing is intuitive nor explained sufficiently. And some things don't seem to work as they should. It's very frustrating.

A frustrating and clunky game. I didn't play a lot but couldn't face any more.

This game has great building and crafting mechanics. Being able to build virtually anywhere is quite unique. Unfortunately it's another rpg/survival/building game ruined for me by boss battles that gate content. I understand some players like boss battles in every game they play but make them optional or something. Some of use who like crafting and building don't like boss battles and aren't any good at them. Why go to the trouble of making content to appeal to builder/crafter types then prevent them from progressing.

I have doubts about the wipes to but I gave up on the send boss battle so won't get far enough to care about those.

Smalland is an unfortunate title at this point because the game is very small with very little content. They need to increase the size of the game not the cost! I'd wait until Smalland gets a lot 'bigger'.

The base building and crafting in this game are really good and already the world is very large and there is a lot of content. Unfortunately after 72 hours I've reached the point where to progress I need to complete a boss battle which I'm hopeless at and have no interest in gitting gud at! Another game with good building and crafting locked behind boss battles.

Can anyone recommend a game like this without boss battles?
