I purchased Wildermyth because I had enjoyed playing a few runs on For The King with my friends. As of writing this review I have just hit 100 hours (~80 solo). I recommend this game.

In Wildermyth you control up to five characters. The story and map are procedurally generated. Good amount of randomness and great replayability. You may try to optimize your characters by adjusting personalities and seeking events but you can also do just fine shipping your otp heroes if that is your thing. The combat is grid and turn-based. There is very limited inventory management. There are three classes, which initially seemed sparse. After more than ten playthroughs I was pleasantly surprised to still find new combos and ways to play. Transformations are one of my favorite parts of the game. THERE ARE PETS!!!

I have completed at least one game on each difficulty, the majority of my games were on the Adventurer (normal) and Tragic Hero (hard) modes. I played a three chapter legacy playthrough on Walking Lunch (hardest) and found myself increasingly frustated as I played but nevertheless I persisted and had fun. Keep in mind that you can start a five chapter Walking Lunch game with brand new characters if you enjoy missing every other attack or just hate yourself haha :). Your previous characters can show up and join your future playthroughs. The more you play, the more you can promote your strongest/favorite characters. When you recruit a 5* legacy hero the comics reflect your hero's renown and you definitely jump into the game feeling like a superhero.

If you made it this far I have a warrior build recommendation but it does spoil some of the game content. One of my favorite warriors to play has the blue skin and stormtouched (Ryze cosplay lol) along with the core skills heroic leap+ and backslam+. Usually warriors are room-clearing melee defenders, or tanky wallers/door blockers. If you stack potency and armor with a stormtouched warrior and these two skills, you can zealous leap around the map (distance scales with potency), punch enemies into position (damage scales with armor, knockback with potency, backslam+ deals half the damage to the unit the initial target collides with), and then lightning bolt (scales with potency) through them. It is very fun.

My uncle introduced me to Bloons TD 3 which came out in 2008. I have played every main series game since and Ninja Kiwi consistently outdoes themselves with each new game and with new content in this one. This is the only game I purchased on the app store on my phone for several years after I largely stopped mobile gaming. Funny monkey pop quirky balloon haha.
