Yes I do recommend the game, but buy it on sale. After all this time and effort from the devs there are still to many bugs (like question marks keep reappearing on the map even after discovery) and useless DLC's. Also annoying are endless over and over exact same spawns. For example, once you've cleared a convoy, zombies and loot respawn, why? There are also an infinite amount of bandits, who do not seem to be bothered by zombies, (unless you are near of course). Also the amount of NPC's doing nothing, or the endless dialogues are very frustrating. Buildings like GRE buildings you have cleared reset each time, locking the same doors, spawning the same loot, like anyone would intentionally lock the doors again. It al makes things repetative. Having said all that, it is a beatifull game, graphics are awesome, paragliding is fun (but why does it cost stamina???). Yes I love playing it but........ everytime I play it I can't help imagine how AWESOME this game could have been.... if only.

YES it is civ, YES it is still a good game, but...... They have made it too difficult with way to much options. I really miss the simplicity of the first civs. The tech tree is split into tech and civics. Also builders can't build roads (traders form them), WHY!? People used to build roads since the wheel and before. There are no simple overviews like wonders or richest civ. You do not have a city view and worse... for some reason wonders like the Eiffel tower are build outside the city and consume a valuable tile, WHY? Then finally, if you have advanced far enough you can build railroads yourself, but on some tile pieces of rail are placed around improvements so The tracks do not form a straight line from city to city, it looks a mess so again, WHY? When you found new city's far from your capital you have a risk it converts or becomes independant. Yes you can also manage that with the new governor feature and so on and so on but the point is... you just can't play a nice Civ game anymore. This game takes ages to play. So lose your job, get, a university degree and a pair of reading glasses to study al the rules and civilopedia. On top of that, it seems that Firaxis is after your pesonal data.

So... If you wanna play Civ just buy Civ 5, the complete edition. It is also not an easy game to master, also takes a lot of time but it is just much more fun than this game.

I recommend it, but only on sale! Here's why:

For starters, I am an achievement wh**e! Else I would not have made it 134 hours (and still counting).....

Pro's:
+Impressive open world where choices dictate your playing style
+Slaughtering zombies feels good
+Vehicle upgrades (if you have the patience to build the necessary facilities)
+Another hour of your life is gone in a blink
+Coöp

Cons:
-The coöp is not really coop, in fact, it sucks (do not buy if coöp play is your goal)
-Graphically below par (just like playing the first SOD)
-Plagued by various bugs
-The game quickly becomes monotonous
-Lack of a story
-DUMB!!!!! NPC's / AI doing nothing!
-Base building is too 'fixed'. You can only build in slots and that sucks. Lots of room, but not the ability to do something with that space. For example, using a container on your base for storage or as an extra bedroom is not possible, it is just standig there without function.

Survival does not have a manual.

It's gripping and addictive, maybe a bit boring sometimes..... boring? SH*T, another day has passed! I'm not done yet! No more wood (again!), but it's cold, should I build with it or use it to heat this dump? Where do i get medicine, let me scavenge some more, only 5 mins left till daytime, NOOOOO!

Just try it and be a War Child sponsor in the proces.

I really do not understand why this game has so many positive reviews, sure it looks good and it is orginal but.... just figuring out how to play the game with friends takes a lifetime. Then finally you can go (you think) but there's no co-op for the main missions. The controls, user interface and menus, a lot of the mechanics in general.... they are all just terrible and difficult to master (on PC). Delete!

Edit: This game is compared by the steam a.i. with e.g. Borderlands 2. Well, let me explain the difference: Borderlands 2 --> Start game --> Invite Friend(s) --> Go have fun!

Well... straight to the point, should you buy this game?
The answer is YES if the game is on sale. The complete edition for €20 max.

If you like zombie slayer, achievement hunting and massive openworld this is GREAT!
The game is intense, it sometimes scares the ♥♥♥♥ out of you (in the beginning at least)
Much co-op fun to!

But… it has a few flaws. Some achievements are in my opinion impossible without cheating. Furthermore the zombie spawning is ridiculous, especially when the game progresses. You can't clear an area for longer dan a day, (or is it hour, or is it minute?). Zombies seem to spawn exactly @your mission marker but when you arrived it was clear, Zombies don't seam to have an eye for computer A.I humans (unless scripted or unless you lure zombies to the a.i enemies). They can talk, shoot, smoke, make noise .... but don’t seem to get noticed. I realy hate that.

At some point the dev’s decided to add demolishers but WHY???? They are no fun! They are too hard to kill and your ammo inventory depleates faster than you can refill! Furthermore; one of the goals is to rescue survivors but since demolishers were added you can’t even get to them. As soon as they are marked on the map, you start running towards them but they are already dead because they spawn together with demolishers. Finally, do NOT buy the Bozak horde. It really sucks and so does the prison DLC. I wonder: DID ANYONE @TECHLAND EVEN PLAY THIS DLC's???

Anyway, complaining is sometimes a relief ;-). Nevertheless it's al true and I hope this review helps. Cheers!

I payed 5 euro's for this game in a Steam sale. It's a nice little game with some easy achievement hunting (if you have the patience to spend some time on 'finding and collecting'). Almost 10 hours of gameplay and I'm trough, but well worth the effort and money. The third part is in the making, I'm curious!
+point and click adventure game that is overall enjoyable
+quality of the story as well as the game play aspect
+Easy "pick up and play" controls
-repeated tasks and grinding bring Hero 2 down a little
-must backtrack a lot

Forget this and get Borderlands 2 GOTY. One of the best en most fun co-op - loot games ever i.m.h.o. and it still looks good!

BIG FUN! Sure, the game has its flaws but it gets more fun when your soldiers get better. Oh, play the 'Enemy within DLC' and forget the orginal.

- Biggest flaw, the algoritm that causes soldiers to miss even @1feet distance or with a 99% critical change

+ And 2 more continents
+ Then you unlock the final achievement ;-)

I would not recommend this game unless it is on sale, for like 10-15USD...... and I'm sad about it. I LOVED mafia I. Your own real estate, garage, Unique vehicles, great atmosphere.... I LIKED Mafia 2, the atmosphere whas still great but there already was to much 'foced action', (like the prison missions). Almost no unique vehicles and the Garage had become Arcade.

Mafia III..... I purchased it in the pre order, out of sentiment, but not worth the money. I've 105 hours on record, I liked (maybe) 50 hours of it. The rest was waiting @ cut scenes and doing ♥♥♥♥ the game wanted me to do. I've no option to purchase real estate, store or modify cars, etcetera. The sound track is limited, same songs over and over. Also the Mafia 1 and 2 atmosphere is gone. Last but not least the game is buggy as hell, police starts shooting immediately, ai road users behave like a madman, (especially when in pusuit). Bad guys are dumb and easy kill, just whistle and they all say and behave the same.

This could have been a great game, but it is not.
