Create hive mine devouring swarm on ironman mode. Grow mass population. Tailoring gene create powerful armies. Build 10k fleets to start conquer first neighbour. Mistakenly declare war on Fallen Empire. Get destroyed. 10/10 will try again.

Basically this game is Rimworld with Terraria 2D side style. The unique thing in this game is gas and heat transfer system. It'll make you restart the game if you didn't plan your base correctly.

Revisit the game with cycle 1000 now

Basically fortresscraft evolved is Factorio + minecraft. The world are very huge and you need to explore and dig underground to gather ores to progress to the next tier level of research. You needs weapon and tool to survive in the exploration to the underground caves.
If you're not familiar with factorio, then base layout can be quiet messy at first.
There is also a room system. You can build room from block and convert it into a specialize room. E.g. Laboratory Room.

I was a big fan of simcity series. But C:S is different and have many new features that you dont find in any other sim building games. C:S simulate almost all aspect in game. Almost looks like a real life. However this game need a learning curve before you can design a good and efficient city.

Pros :
- Have many features that are not in other city building games.
- Have route info, so you can track and see where your cim are going. You can even see they walk from home to the shopping area.
- Mass transit system is cool.
- Support modding

Cons :
- High DLC prices (need to wait until sales maybe).

as a x series fan, my current playtime is far too little in this game. the graphic is outstanding, there are many new features as well. but it seems, need to grind so much. without SETA time acceleration, you need to wait a very long time for your container to docked and trade with a station.
