I haven't finished the game yet because my controllers are dead and its late but like... THIS GAME IS SO GOOD. It is a linear story game which is heavily inspired by Half-Life 1, Alyx, and BONEWORKS (maybe a little bit of DOOM too). THIS IS A VR GAME DONE RIGHT.

Although I haven't really been following the story, I feel like the storytelling is very much reminiscent of Half-Life storytelling as characters interact and talk to you and seamlessly flow from talking to gameplay. The story doesn't drag down this game at all, it clearly isn't taking itself too seriously and the humor has made me snicker a couple times.

I absolutely love the gameplay, it doesn't feel like its in VR just to be in VR; that is an issue I have with a lot of other VR titles. If you have played Alyx before, the gunplay, healing system, and weapon upgrading system are all very very familiar. The enemies do offer a challenge and require you to be precise and take cover. There are a lot of really engaging boss fights in this game which all vary from each other in unique ways.

Also just like, wow, its clear a lot of effort was poured into making the assets in this game. Every single model appears to be made for this game, not store bought (although there isn't anything wrong with store bought assets). It brings a lot of life to the environment when the assets look purpose built and made with lots of care and passion.

There are plenty of other things which I can praise about this game too. There are so many moments which are nowhere short of the word EPIC. I am also surprised at how well vehicles are done in this game, they don't feel clunky and make for really intense moments. I wont spoil what you will be doing with vehicles but just know, its much better than BONELAB's vehicles.

PLEASE PLEASE buy this game. Give the people who made this game money, this is clearly a labor of love for VR and gaming which deserves endless praise. I am probably over-hyping this, but if you are someone like me who has been a PCVR enthusiast for nearly a decade now, this is one of those games which scratches the right itches in all the right places.
