juan is going to give suda51 a run for his money

the video game equivalent of old online video series made by a bunch of ambitious kids.

it's super rough, but it's interesting, and it's pretty clear everyone involved in creating it really cared about what they were doing and had a ton of fun.

i've played a lot of really polished games that were fun in the moment, but don't really last. i'll definitely remember Wanted: Dead lmfao.

coin flip as to whether or not you'll be able to render the floor, optimization and methods used for it are pretty questionable especially for an RE engine game. game is mechanically cool, but you can get it from the first DD. MT framework games have aged pretty well and still run like a dream, this does not.

game runs horribly, it's flawed, it's janky. it needed more time in the oven. but i don't know. my friend and i are having an absolute blast, loving the designs and odd plot points, and there's charm to the characters that ARE fleshed out. hopefully things improve in the future, but for now it's a neat little mess of a thing.

Hunkenstein is a super janky, immature, and unpolished game.

HOWEVER. I genuinely found the wild concept, plot, and connections to some strange story Oubliette has in the background of their stuff to carry it pretty heavy. It needs a lot of QoL and features but it's pretty clear the dev is improving from stuff they've shown off before.

If you can appreciate odd, sincere experiences and get a laugh out of some toilet humor i'd say check it out some!

Blair Witch is definitely a mixed bag situation.

pros!

it's got a lot of cool ideas (tapes, dog being a living objective pointer and threat detector) and little tidbits (e.g. the phone having a proper UI of a classic nokia brick phone).

using tapes in a camcorder to proceed to parts of puzzles and manipulate the environment is pretty dang cool, even if it's a bit limited and somewhat sparse.

the dog is pretty cool, and the game is pretty atmospheric!

cons!

a lot of the cool ideas presented aren't used enough or polished well.

some people have mentioned this but some of the kills during "combat" feel entirely accidental at points even if you're following cues

animation can be really stiff and weird looking, and i don't think the people responsible for the interaction have ever seen a dog, or any domesticated animal, given the dogs expressions showing intense stress while you shake his brains out when activating the "pet" prompt.
