Me and a bunch of friends bought the game to play co-op together. Spent many hours having a great bunch of fun, and even with the occasional desync or bug, was still a greatly enjoyable experience with mates.

Then the developer 'temporarily' removed multiplayer. That was 6 months ago. It's not coming back, and even after their "V2 rewrite" announcement today, they say multiplayer's return is "not anytime soon". Now we're all past the refund period, and we can't get our money back for a game who removed the feature we bought it for (and isn't even in early access!)

Vaguely tolerable.
