Game is great!

[[[Only thing that really ruins the game for me is volatile crystals buff on rares. You cannot dodge it unless you luck out. It can also be 30ft from the corpse. It 1 shots even with tons of health and resistances. REMOVE IT FROM THE GAME. Or, dial down the damage, holy hell. Guaranteed death from a corpse 30 ft from you is pure cancer. When you get into maps after the campaign it will nearly always ruin your run and lock the map. GGG pay attention.

Really enjoy it. I can see myself playing a lot of more on higher speed settings. It took the Crusader King theme
that didn't really gel with me and turned it into a slow rts, which feels amazing to me. I've heard from vets of CrKings that this game doesn't have as many details, which makes sense to me. For an rts style strategy I think they hit the mark between detail, strategy and flow. There is definitely a level of complexity that is difficult to spot at first, that can lead to interesting advantages. I do recommend briefly going through a beginners guide on steam or doing the tutorial in-game before diving in with friends. You will get a lot more enjoyment from being able to know what the icons mean. Once you warm up and learn to read everything and know what it means, the game starts to unfold nicely.

Surprising depth. Way more to do than I thought there would be. Really enjoyable.

Update 14 Oct 2023: Stability is better. Talent trees are excellent, providing many ways to play each class. Weapons have been reworked very well, it feels like nearly everything is worth using, a ton to experiment with. I would like a more stable framerate when things get really wild, I end up dipping into the 30's when the screen is packed. Could be my setup but I'm running a 3070ti, 32mb ram, ryzen 5 but my settings are modest with no ray tracing on, my resources in the taskbar are not anywhere near maxed. Is a stable 60 too much to ask? So there's room for them to improve in that deptartment. Overall, very very happy with changes recently and I'm back playing regularly.

Update as of 14 Jan 2023. I cannot in good conscious, recommend this game to anyone. Performance continues to get worse, not better. Don't spend a dime on this until there is an obvious commitment by FatShark to actually fix this game and finish it. This is a half finished product. Very little storyline etc. I was willing to look past a lot of stuff early on, but this is inexcusable. FatShark you are seriously, seriously, letting us down. Get your ♥♥♥♥ together.

Update as of 5 July 2024. The performance issues are much better. I really thought we'd get more storyline, so much potential left untapped. Crafting is okay. Always fun to come on and kill things, but can get repetitive. We could use maps and other types of events. I'm sure there a ton of great ideas floating around the community. The new penance stuff is nice. It would be cool to have a better sense of how the community is progressing the war effort. Even if the team used the same tile sets, it would be nice to have more map variety. I could see myself really getting into an evolving storyline like Destiny for the 40k universe - I'd buy more skins and spend more time in the game. Right now it feels like I'm waiting for something that probably will never happen. It's worth the money, but temper your expectations for the future.

**Been wishing for this type of 40k game forever. It is a work in progress during this last closed beta before launch. But the bugs are few and far between from my perspective. The art is amazing, they really pushed the limit with this game. Your Nvidia 1060 may struggle but it is still playable on low settings. Absolutely spectacular in my opinion with better better gfx cards. So many weapons to choose from (60+) that feel different from each other. Lots to test and enjoy. All 4 classes feel great and distinct.**

Raises the bar for isometric games in general. So many fun and interesting game systems to experience.
