For better experience, you can copy the data folder into other cavestory engines like Doukutsu-rs or NXengine-evo. Achievements won't work though even if you copied and replaced the CaveStory+.exe file with Doukutsu-rs.

You can say the devs really love pokemon. Has a lot of improvements in terms of gameplay while still maintaining the traditional playstyle.
