One of the best city builders I have played. The best thing about this game is things never get to the point where it's "too much to handle" like many other survival city builders, because by the time you get near that point, you're done with your settlement and ready to move on to the next one.

That might make the game sound repetitive, but the rougelite aspects make every settlement feel different. You'll have new challenges waiting with each one, and there is no single strategy that will work every time.

Sometimes you will have to deal with very challenging odds, because the game is constantly working against you, whether it be via the queen getting impatient with you, the forest getting more hostile, or your population's needs being unfulfilled as they increase in number. Finding the right balance is the key to success.

Against the Storm is a very well balanced game with a streamlined UI, intuitive controls/functions, and smooth optimized performance. I have very little, if not nothing, to complain about here. If you still aren't sold, try out the demo.

The first non-rhythm Love Live game is finally here!

This game is a sequel to the anime "Yohane in the Parhelion: Sunshine in the Mirror", which is a spin-off of the anime "Love Live! Sunshine!" If you don't care for Love Live or have never heard of it, that's okay. The game is still totally enjoyable, you'll just miss out on some character jokes and references.

Now for the pros and cons:

+ Introduces some cool new mechanics for the genre
+ Great voice acting
+ Great music
+ Pretty good level design with some cool puzzles and colorful visuals
+ Character abilities are pretty funny

- Lots of weapons end up not being used. I got the best weapon pretty early in the game and never needed anything else.
- Crafting system feels like it was an afterthought, there's no reason to craft most items as you won't end up using them
- Huge difficulty spikes for a few bosses, meanwhile other bosses you can just button mash

All in all, it's a pretty decent Metroidvania game. Even without the Love Live tie-in, it would still be a good game on its own.

STEAM DECK: Game runs perfect on Steam Deck. No additional setup was needed.

It's a city builder game, except you're a floating city. You can move! And you have to worry about tilt, lift, and speed in addition to normal city issues. The only way to get new citizens is to recruit new ones from settlements and by completing quests for other kingdoms down on the surface. You need a steadily growing population or you'll quickly find you don't have enough people to build or gather resources. If you're a fan of resource management and worker placement heavy games, this should be right up your alley. Oh, and the board game aesthetic is very cool.

If Majesty and Stellaris had a child, this would be it. From Majesty, you have the indirect control of your units by needing to place bounties on actions such as exploring and attacking. From Stellaris you have the complex economy with multiple resources you need to function, and the need to constantly explore new areas (islands).

My only complaint so far is the difficulty curve seems a bit extreme. Also, the game never clearly explains to you what to do when you're running negative on gold and food and I feel there needs to be an easier way out of it.

Overall, a very fun game for a great price.

If you're a fan of classic-style turn-based RPGs, this is the game for you. It's different from other JRPGs in that the story doesn't focus so much on saving the world - but more about political intrigue. An amazing set of characters accompany the story to make for a good 60-70 hours of gameplay (if you go for all quests). Oh, and the music is so, so good.
