Easily one of the best of the unending flood of "early access survival games." Even on early access release, the game has a killer amount of content -- *especially* for its price point. This is easily a game that other dev teams would likely charge 40+ USD for in early access.

If you're into Norse mythology or the fantasy Viking aesthetic, look no further. The worlds are procedurally generated, but I've found virtual no sign of that typical procedural generation "jank" that typically comes with the territory. In fact, I'd say the game is downright *pretty.* Do be aware that this is still a survival game, though. Expect to do *a lot* of wood chopping, rock breaking, and ore mining to be able to progress. The upside to this being that the game is almost entirely PvE focused, with the only option for PvP being something all participants have to opt in to. That might be good or bad depending on what you're looking for. Valheim is absolutly co-op centered at its very core.

I've got a world I play solo on, as well as one that I've been playing on with a group of 6 - 7 friends, and both playstyles are pretty enjoyable. I should probably mention that solo progression can be pretty rough at some points. The devs are clearly expecting you to play with a couple of friends and as such, resources can take a very long time to harvest and transport on your own, but that's okay because the game doesn't have a terribly demanding pace. In fact, I'd say if you're looking for a comfy game, Valheim is a good choice. Not a lot of other games where you can build a great hall with your friends, stoke a warm hearth, and brew some mead while waiting for a huge thunderstorm to pass by. A+ certified cozy.
