One of the finest modern roguelikes. Freehold's dedication to procedurally generating interesting narratives is second only to the Adams brothers, but the similarities to Dwarf Fortress end at the limb system (which of course implies a dismemberment mechanic). Be prepared to squint at sprites and die a lot.

Incredible game. I've put in many hours outside Steam, starting years ago, and it's no less captivating now than then. Excellent single player campaigns with tons of unit and scenario depth, great score, and the best modding system I've seen that isn't called Steam Workshop.

This game is one of the most unique and polished 21st century roguelikes, and Kyzrati is an absolute gem of a developer. Cogmind has always run great under Wine, and Steam Play coming makes me so happy for the future of this game on Linux. It is worth buying this game just so you can look at the beautiful ASCII art of guns. The fact that you can fire those guns and watch pieces of robot fly across your screen in glorious animated ASCII is a bonus.

More accessible but as deep or deeper than the other classic RLs. More achievements than you know what to do with. Hundreds of race and class combinations which have completely different mechanics, skill trees, and resources. You really have no reason not to play this game. Oh, what's that, still not sure if the value proposition is good enough? Well, you can download the game for free from its website and decide if you want to support the developer and get an extra class and some DLC. DO EET DO EET NAOW!!!

Deeply disturbing and yet incredibly satisfying. Some parts of the ending were predictable, but maybe they were supposed to be. And, even so, there are plenty of unanswered questions I'll look for solutions to in a second playthrough. I highly recommend it.

I guess it's only fair that I review this game after sinking 800 hours into it in under a year. Let's just say that this game is not a good thing if you value your time. However, if you have months of your life to waste on a game, this is one of the best games you could waste them on.

Played the tutorial, decoupled in the atmosphere, exploded. 10/10.
