The gameplay is very difficult and the mechanics used for investigation during interrogations is difficult to read fully.

Not to mention the actual gameplay, movement, and interaction is very slow, its standard rockstar combat but everything else feels slow around it.

I looked up a walk through for all the cases beginning to end, and Overall it was a fairly good and interesting ending. But the fact that I felt like I needed to do that to even have a chance at doing well in the game was not an added bonus.

Also the graphics are poorly optimizied.

Game requires an unbelievable amount of modding to get working just to run.

And they still give me to ability to buy the none GOTY edition.

Loved it when it was released, and would honestly but it again if they remastered or remade, but in its current state it is such a hassle.

MP doesn't work, none of the servers work, locking out 1 achievement.

PLAY THIS BEFORE BL3.
I would highly recommend playing this game before starting borderlands 3. By all means not required but it helps and the game itself is great.
In my experience I have played almost all the BL games. 2 being my favorite, 1 being a close second, 3 existing with poor story and dialogue, and not even discussing the Pre-sequel. The latter 2 have their redeeming attributes but P-S just got exhaustive.
All that being said, this definitely helps get the sour taste out of your mouth after the P-S. The writing is great. The character development is very good and for anyone who knows I love LB. Bros through and through.
With all the character development I believe it is important to play before BL3 just to add context. but by all means do not expect BL3 to be near the writing of this, or even the other games. (I have also heard that New TFTBL was also not very good)
This game was fantastic.

Bought this Game on sale and none of the achievements work, plus the EA help system is trash to boot. I would change this review if they fixed the damn achievements. Its been broken for over a week now.

Edit: Had to update EA play to 13.52 to get the achievements work but it works now

Honestly, I would like to give this game a good review but I can't, It was fun for the first 20hrs but not it is unbearably repetitive. I have 6 more achievements left and I could be looking at another 20 hours of game play.

There have been many game play glitches and it actually seems to get worse the longer you play. Not completing missions and giving rewards upon completion, not being able to complete inhuman faction missions because the game removes the mission needed to complete. glitching and get stuck in walls by both you and enemy's. And the biggest one, my uncle and I are playing to help create a fun atmosphere, but his progression bars for achievements just reset, we don't know if it is just the visual or the actual progress that has been reset but it certainly didn't help the grinding process we have already endured. Plus now I have trading cards that I can't buy and sell since the game is delisted.

Whenever I talk about this game I was say the game creators new everything it took to make a good game, but had no idea how to implement. The character skill trees are well done, the graphics are very nice and it runs smoothly on my computer, (minus making my audio crackly unless I restart everything occasionally) and honestly the coop is done fairly well. but with all the glitches, the lack of variety in game play and map design and the rotation of missions that can make objectives unattainable, on top of actual steam achievement progress resetting (like how does that even happen) This game could've been really good if they cared more about the story (that ended very abruptly with kind of a cop-out explanation which should've been broadened and continued rather than left as it is) rather than forcing online down peoples throats.

If you play this game, I hope you enjoy, but I hope you can look passed all the issues that come with it as well.

I mostly created this so I had a reference for other games I want to review but I also enjoyed filling it out and I think its important to keep in mind that I went for all the achievements and that also factors into the difficulty and story (Playing on the hardest difficult was just alot of running and hoping for the best)

As someone who has played around 10 lego games and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. It is very difficult for me to recommend this game to someone in my similar position.

That being said, if you are new to lego games. I wouldn't say that this is a bad game for you. its just nothing like many of the originals that I played on Xbox 360.

This game took, what was in my opinion a very good style of story telling through TCS (the complete saga), and completely gutted it. It went from a focus on the story to a focus on the exploration which was incredibly redundant and not very fun to complete. (this game consists of 1200 Kyber Bricks and it should've been much closer to 500) And through that many of the story missions themselves are extremely short.

On top of it being incredibly to long for 100% completion. It is also over compensated to be family friendly. So much to the extent in which many deaths are replaced with things such as getting a pie in the face or getting hit with a banana. This makes many scenes very cringy as they try to child proof it.

(Edit:Saw someone else comment this and I agree) The space flight in this game also agitated my motion sickness.

The graphics where good and the lego game play was unique and it had aspects that made getting 100% much easier than having to look up a guide for locations. But overall I would advise against getting this game.

I found this game very difficult to get into, but as the story progressed I found it quite difficult to stop because I was so curious to see what was going to happen. Other than some recognition issues with the controller joysticks (There are some guides to help fix this that I did not test) and the alternative being a very clunky keyboard to move. This was a very good game. I am not sure if I was blinded because it was such a new play style but I think this was an excellent game to introduce me into more story based Choices matter games.

Overall I would give this a 8.2/10

Edit: Just completed. Found a very good guide to clean up the endings and get rid of the long end credits. Very good game still and some of the endings are very heavy. Original rating still stands.

This is one of the best games I ever played, and I have played a wide variety of games. Received this as a gift from my father but I would've probably spent $50 for this game. I can't wait for the second to hopefully be available on Steam.
