I personally pay for premium as I enjoy the game so much that is is worth to me, I play multiple countries with the automatic repair turned off so I am somewhat shielded from the Silver lion grinding issue but that should not be required for a regular player.
I would love to be able to recommend this game to my friends but the grinds are too long and unsatisfying to the regular players that any one I try to get into the game just hits a wall while trying to progress and eventually give up. I have to agree with the many people that say that Gaijin is just "milking" the whales instead of making a game that everyone can enjoy which in turn increases the player base and their possible buyers to support the game out of enjoyment rather then necessity.

I am very happy about the response from the devs to change this but I still feel the need to leave this negative review till I see actions.
