I have immense admiration for Hello Games pushing through literally the worst dumpster fire the internet had ever seen. They never gave up on their grand vision, and ultimately the negative press from the original launch, only served to benefit them as Hello Games proved they could deliver (they just needed more time. thanks Sony.).

No Man's Sky is a fantastic game to occupy weekends at a time with your friends. You'll be saving a freighter from pirates one moment, building a city on your home planet the next. Learning languages, cutting deals, killing pirates, controlling a space-fleet, digging a literal hole to the core only to build an elevator back up, finding a randos base, griefing a randos base, building your own base over the randos base, all in the name of exploration; and with the addition of VR, No Man's Sky will slowly evolve into the 'Ready Player One' universe that we could only dream of.

Sure, it's taken some time, but it's now well worth it; dare I say, even worth the AAA price tag.
