A tremendously unique experience. Lost of sandbox-ish games can feel, even with a campaign setting, pretty aimless - but not Aisrhips. The campaign map isn't the absolute most robust thing even put to screen, but it still provides a compelling and engaging low-key strategy experience - especially with the DLC pack, which adds a layer of character management on top of it!

That aside, the main draw of Airships: Conquer the Skies is, naturally, the airships, and this is where the game shines. Not quite as slow-paced as something like Forts, but not nearly as frantic as the meth-fueled action of Highfleet, Airships does a great job of simulating deep resource management in battle without losing the dynamic motion of airships and landships. There's lots of room for creativity, too - plenty of airship designs are viable across the campaign as technology advances, and there isn't exclusively one winning game plan. Want to make crack-smoking rockets with ramming spikes? Go for it! Want to make enormous battleships flanked with picketing destroyers? Go for it! There's tons of depth in airship design, and mastering the intricacies of crew pathing and management is rewarding but never intimidating.

And the modding! Expansive, easy, and entertaining! When you get bored of the base game, there's a whole world to explore of user-created content to explore. So get exploring!
