Lots of FUN! to be had, but you need to make your own. Game won't hold your hand, heck, it won't even teach you. Learning is half the FUN!. :))

Early Access Review
Really fun, though a bit expensive. Seems to lack some randomness factor from what I've seen, so you kind of have to help the process along. Interaction of creatures and the world seems esoteric and somewhat lacking. It's good as is, but I do expect so see some development in the near future.

I picked it up to pass some time, almost could not let it down. Great game for casual play and if you enjoy hardcore RNG action, it's also very nice through the end. You can gather friends for fishing, playing music, decorating your own home and much more. Gathering system is time based and quite simple, and so is crafting (which doesn't seem to influence much outside of cosmetics).

Nice story, cute graphs. A great way to spend hours of your life grinding and reincarnating characters to make them better, if you like seeing numbers grow big like I do. Very humorous but really tactical.

Do not play this game. Find another one with devs who both care and aren't absolute incompetents.

ToS started in a bad path and quickly lost most of whatever tiny playerbase they had, but we held on and we kept playing and paying, even though the company seemed too greedy at times. Then they by some miracle got better and things started looking up, but then...

Someone, somehow, within the company or not, bugged monster drops. Rare items that should drop once every thousand kills were dropping 50% of the time. Naturally, many people exploited that bug which led to the server being offline and accounts being blocked for verification.

Now here's where it gets worse:

Blocked accounts would only suffer restrictions IF they somehow traded the items out of their accounts. Everyone else who farmed a thousand rare drops and equipment just got two days locked out of the game and when they came back had most of the dirty items and also received lots of gifts from the devs, including premium cash boxes.

THEY ESSENTIALLY LAVISHED THE EXPLOITERS WITH PREMIUM AND RARE CONTENT WHILE LEAVING THE REST WITH SOME EXPERIENCE MULTIPLIERS (that exploiters also got, and in greater number btw).

So yeah, they don't care. Only play if you plan to do it dirty.

UPDATE: Now it's pretty decent and they've fixed the resource rates, although Epic armor is still quite a pain to get. Thralls do get stuck in the lava and die tho.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This game has a tremendous potential.

That being said, on release and up until today (February 5, 2017) playing online is still quite difficult even with low ping - having a few players on server is enough to lag it up. So if you're willing to play with friends on a big server to have epic PVP battles, maybe wait a bit.

The overall gameplay, however, is very good. Buildings are very visually appealing and easy to place or dismantle - you can rotate them with mouse scroll before you place them or merely press two buttons to get back around a fifth of what you spent.

PVE is a mouthful, though you'll probably spend the first hours killing Hyenas and running from Rhinos. But after you're geared up it gets insane, with plenty of creatures to slay and places to explore in the handcrafted scenery.

Thrall system seems pretty good so far, except combat types still cannot target humans. =( They'll wreck anything else, though.

The fighting per se is still quite unpolished, given you WILL face stutters, and a few hitboxes need to be fixed, causing you to sometimes get stuck inside of creatures.

Overall a good game, if you can deal with the fact it's Early Access and still lacking.

But hey, what's best in life?

A great game for those who enjoy more thoughtful, slow gaming sessions. You can easily forget it's 5:00 in the morning when being completely absorbed by dynasty and realm matters such as squashing another silly insurrection (they should know better).

Greatest problem is, too much DLC - and worst of all, you'll really want to buy them since they can take the game to a whole new level *hint hint sons of abraham*.
