Bought this as a gag gift for a friend. Friend bought me gag gift in return. Immediately knocked over cup stand so I decided to try to throw everything in the floor... and after 5 minutes I gave up.

Utterly rage inducing, I'm sure.

Nevermind that psychological horror tag. Just click install. Cute anime girls here. That's all. Nothing more. Enjoy.

I've been playing since Kickstarter, and this is now one of my favorite MMOs. And it is an MMO. More on that later.

Likes:

♥ The storyline and well written NPCs. You can't get much better, and that's something the vast majority of the community agrees on. Many play just for that, and periodically leave until content is released. I wouldn't say that's a common trend in many MMOs based only on story and nothing else. It's just novel quality stuff.
It's a horror MMO that does horror right. Modern day but everything you ever thought -might- be true, is. The game is truly it's own conspiracy theory. Less super-lava-demons (there's some) and more skin crawling creepy. Think Lovecraft. Spectres, folk lore, fairy tales, religious/occult mythology, urban legends, creepypasta-esque quests, human experimentation - I could probably ramble on. Maybe the scariest thing of all are the unicorn heads. If jump scares are a concern though, I wouldn't say there are many that are... intentional.
I can't forget to include however it's also an action game. There are even some Indiana Jones style quests, investigative missions that will challenge you (and Google,) and covert ops. Oh, and the "secret" factions everyone is a part of is by in large a lot of your character's identity and determines some quests you take. The game offers different alternate paths in some ways, but I'll leave out the spoilers. See, I'm rambling. Sum total is it's involved.

♥ Shared world. I see where they were coming from with this, though a tad misleading. They intentionally made maps outside of hubs smaller instances (though all on one server!) so you won't see 50 other players on the same map as you, as that would rather ruin the atmosphere. However, again hubs are always pretty busy, and if you want to meet up with a friend in an instance, you just group up.
Now why do I say it's misleading? End game will always require a full party of at least 2, usually 5, or more. So while you can do all the story content alone or with just a few friends, you will probably need a cabal (guild) for end game content (elite dungeons, raids, lairs, etc.) or be willing to random group through activity finder or chat. I personally like this set up, but it's something everyone should know before joining.

♥ The maps are beautiful and expansive. Not Skyrim expansive, but many nooks and crannies to explore, and things to surprise. If role playing is your thing, as it is mine, this is helpful too.

♥ Builds. You are not locked into a class system, and have many weapons with different mechanics to choose from for various playstyles with each. Pretty much by the time you're "done", you should have them all unlocked. Plenty of room for theorycrafting. I've seen many players swear by their builds, but you're always going to find a way to tweak it for your needs. (Please though, refer to combat, balance, and gear/upgrading in the next section.)

Iffy Things:

♦ It's an older game. It was originally "The Secret World", so while it has been reworked a great deal, there are things that remain in game from the old game transfers which are exclusive. Not that I mind this, but some people do. This also means the graphics are a tad dated. They did however just switch to a 64 bit client and I really believe will be improving the game at least for next couple of months if not longer.

♦ There's a lot of bugs. Customer service though is usually pretty helpful with in game related things at least. It has just relaunched so hey, should be expected.

♦ Funcom. They seem like a company working hard, they are hiring more employees, they stay in touch with the community (though they really need one place to focus information as it's scattered between 4 different platforms), and they're usually good about compensation. That said, wait times are long for responses to tickets outside the game, and on the FC client they have a less than reputable middle man service for credit cards called Hipay. Basically: The game developers seem to care. The financial department is another issue. If that concerns you, read into TSW transfers on Reddit.

♦ Combat. It's fun, it can be challenging believe it or not, but know your mechanics and you're pretty a-okay. It's reticle combat, so a little dodging or placement needed, otherwise everything else auto-targets. Just turn your pointer at the monster, easy.

♦ Balance. There is definitly different power spikes between weapons, ranging from out right eh, to absolutely fabulous. They are slowly working to fix some weapons, including nerfing, buffing, and fixing unintended mechanics. On this, it's a wait-and-see-what-happens kind of deal. Crossing my fingers.

♦ Gear and upgrading. It's not complicated, it's just time consuming. There are a lot of complaints from people trying to create gear for different sets, say, one DPS, one tank, and one heals. The jist of gear is, watch your pips (which only matter beyond story content); watch what ability the gear has and if it benefits you. It all drops from quests, dungeons, or you buy it off the auction house from other players.
The time consuming part is the upgrading. You feed equipment into other equipment to level it, or use distillates which have usually more of a power boost. Distillates are available only through dungeons, daily logs in, events, and caches which to be opened require patron or real world cash to game currency. As the gear goes to different color coded tiers (green > blue > purple > yellow > red), the expierence from any item dwindles. Getting to purple is not a very hard feat but from yellow to red someone did the math, and it could take years currently, or a lot of money (See below about P2When.) This also means, despite a wonderful system of various weapons that can be unlocked on one character, you often end up focusing on one or two weapons. I'm hoping as more content comes out though, that fixes this issue.

♦ Grind. End game is just grind for the above said equipment. I say iffy because, I have never minded some grind and find it relaxing. For some people, this is infuriating. I do think the game needs more end game content though than -just- grind. I'm hoping that's fixed in upcoming patches. That said, you really gain very little from rushing in this game.

Dislikes:

♠ I'm not even a big PvPer but there isn't much for PvP players right now. The game is mostly PvE focused, which is fine by me, but I do hope to see more PvP content in the future. Retains more players, keeping the game healthy as well.

♠ There is P2Win, but not in the usual sense. It's P2When. You can basically pay to overlevel your gear, buy AP/SP points (ability points), unlock other classes, etc. Really though, you don't gain much at the moment from not just playing the game and leveling that way, as well as unlocking AP/SP or classes. It's also expensive as hell, too. I'm just not a fan of whenever you can skip playing to overlevel your gear. It takes the competitive aspect out of equipment in any game, because you don't actually have to complete anything, just charge to a card it if you so choose.
Now a fair bit of warning: Not being a patron is hard. You can play the game completely free! There isn't anything locked behind a paywall. It's just... You're going to lose out on double AP/SP, you are going to pay more to use the market, and you're going to be grinding a lot longer at end game. Basically, you pay in this game, or you grind more. Even if you buy patron, someone else who spends in game gold (Aurum) is going to have even less grind than you. That isn't to say you need to buy Aurum though, I just really recommend if you want to play passed story content you spend the 12.99 a month. Unless you wanna no life it I guess? If you're just here for the amazing story line though, and want to treat it as an RPG, you do not need patron at all. Don't waste your money.

That's pretty much it for now. I look forward to seeing where the game goes.

Strategy? Way more than I thought. Pink frilly death? Way more than I thought. Grinding my teeth? Way more than I thought.

It's annoying but addictive. Buy it on sale though. <3

"Time to mix drinks and save lives." Honestly? This game was refreshing.

First of all, and my biggest happy thing with this game: Female perspectives. Real but futuristic, quirky, sometimes even "bad", female perspectives. You're not getting male fan service with this game. Sure you could say there's a lot of games out there like that, but most are very pink sparkly magical worlds. This is a dystopian society with androids, talking dogs, and brains in jars. I'd be lying if I said there was zero - there's a lot of mention of boobs, but it's mostly casual and not invasive talk; not aimed toward's just one half of the human race's gaze.

My next favorite thing that ties in with the former, LGBTQ relationships! That are not perverted to hell and back. Do not get me wrong, I can be a pervy as they come, but this game focuses on the actual relationships without, again, worrying about a guy enjoying the lesbians. I don't want to spoil too much, but if you are LGBTQ, play this game.

Then there is just the story it's self. The game for being kind of short (I mean, you have multiple play throughs, but I finished round one in a day and even AFKed a ton) it's really involved. There's a lot of lore, companies, government, factions, and just people you have to keep track of to make sense of everything. I really appreciate this in a game because often times in visual novels I can end up... well, just clicking away to progress without paying attention to details. Missing the minute details can have an effect on the story, as most of the progression depends on your memory and slinging drinks.

The game it's self between the colorful music, the retro styled graphics, and the futuristic storyline reminds me a lot of movies from the 80's. It's hilarious, it can jerk on your heart strings a bit, it's involved, it has little fan service, and LGBTQ galore but with plenty of straight material as well. Not to mention some how - again for how short it was - there's a lot of subject material that makes you stop and think.

Definitly plan on playing to finish the rest of the story and achievements.

I really want to leave this game more of a neutral review, because while it's enjoyable, it's not what I thought it was. Granted, I didn't do a lot of research into it, but I usually don't with games anyways because I hate spoilers on my first play through. As an investigative game, it's pretty linear. You do have to discover clues yourself, yes, but you can easily press a button and everything in a room you can interact with is highlighted. Even if you have several crime scenes, and say you need to compare something, it pretty much just tells you to head back from Point B to Point A. There's no way to miss or gather more because the story just auto continues on once you have everything needed.

Trials are more of the fun part, but in story mode, they are limited. While the controls are a bit wonky - originally being designed for touch screens - it's pretty neat how during free time you can befriend the characters to learn more skills that enhance game play further. However, put these kinda mini game features aside, again, court trials are pretty linear. You have to figure out the correct order of things and there's no room for different scenarios. In other words, either do the right thing or game over.

So over all if you want an investigative/debate style game as it's advertised, it is in fact that, but it's easy. The only some what difficult parts you will encounter is during the trials where you will have to guess what goes with what, requiring you to pay attention to the story as you play.

I'd call it a visual novel with a fixed ending. As such, the characters and the storyline are good. If you couldn't guess it's an anime style storyline, with a lot of twists and turns. Some things I could predict were going to happen, but others I was pretty surprised. I think that's what kept me playing for thirty hours, I just wanted to see what would happen. The art work, especially the death scenes, is pretty intriguing. And, the game genuinely made me laugh at times despite all the dark drama! On the downside however, this ended up being a game I was glad to finish. There is a lot of dialogue, that to me felt like filler, even for a visual novel.

Also for achievement wh--- lovers *cough*, they are not all easy and there's a lot of replayability because after the storyline, there are more mini style games to play. I'm rather burnt out now on the game though and haven't messed with these. Perhaps later... maybe... some day. Again, kind of ready to play something else and it won't be Daganronpa 2.

This is a really, really, really, really, reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally good game! A couple of jump scares, but mostly creepy atmosphere with gorgeous art. Tons of surrealist art if that's your thing. The game play is super involved because I can't even fathom how I didn't get the 90% observation achievement on my first go; I thought I was being super thorough. Plenty of puzzles and exploration with creepy aparitions to keep you on your toes.

Not a single complaint, I'd play it again.

I wish there was more, lol. It's a game that makes you think, full of riddles, fairy tale/nursery rhyme references, and multiple endings/achievements that will cause you to have to save a lot, or play through again. I'm starting to notice a trend with this game maker on adding some darker life questions and/or religious undertones. I likey.

Came for the cutesy style horror, stayed for the exsistential crisis storyline, lol. The graphics are nothing to write home about and the game play isn't exactly challenging. The story is excellent however with dark religious undertones and is absolutely unique to anything I've read/played in a while. If you like serial killers, psycho little girls, watching serial killers/psycho little girls become best pals, and manga-esque narratives, it's fabulous.
