A nice breath of fresh air from the Ace Attorney series we all love. But how fresh that breath of air is, it can be debatable.

This is just the first level, and it's a tutorial, but you can already see some different outcomes from your choices, even if you do win the case. That's the strongest point about this game, it's the choices it allows you to make. The case presented in this episode was interesting, but the characters were "lacking", to say the least.

The mentor and Regeria Hope are well structured characters, but it's all downhill from there. The judge is a complete joke character, there is nothing serious about him, really nothing at all. And that's not a good thing, not even nearly. And his voice, oh god, his voice. There is no reason for the judge of a court to be such a pansy. The judge from the Ace Attorney series had its joke moments, but felt serious throughout. This one feels like a joke throughout. Since the creator doesn't try to make too many joke moments out of Regeria Hope, making her a more serious character than Phoenix Wright was, he feels forced to make jokes another way around. At least that's how I felt. About the rest of the cast, the prosecutor is bland as it can be and the lead detective, at least in this case, is a stereotypical cowboy. Remember how Miles Edgeworth appeared only in the second case to become your best rival/ friend until the end of the game? Forget about that, they present the main prosecutor in the first case and she's as bland about everything as she can be.

The music was... above average, let's say. Nothing too memorable and nothing out of place. I still heard in my head that typewriter typing each time they changed scenes and it presented the place and time of the scene. People who played Ace Attourney games will understand what I mean.

The gameplay was the usual Ace Attorney gameplay with some nice, refreshing twists. The gameplay and the case itself were what kept me going.

All in all, it's worth a try, it's not even a very long episode and you can get a grasp of what to expect from it. You just might like it, even though I feel the cast is proving itself too bland and ridiculous.

This game made me feel a kind of pain I haven't felt in a while.

First of all, it is not guaranteed that you feel the same if you play through this game. Basically, this is a nightmare that some people have actually gone through. Just imagine a friend that you actually like, but you're good friends and you don't want to screw the friendship you already have. You keep talking for months and years and that person ends up meaning way much more than you could have ever expected. As it happens in this game, the person actually likes you too but you can't just act as you would wish.

Some mistakes happen, some problems surface, and suddenly your friendship is hanging by a thread. This is where you realize how much that person means to you. And then you realize it's probably too late to say what you feel. To say what your heart felt but your mind denied. In the end, you did nothing wrong, You tried to be the best you could for that person. And still, suddenly, everything you thought you did right starts to feel so wrong. Please note that this is a long distance friendship/relationship. And everything you try to say from this point on won't matter. Because the other person just doesn't care about you anymore. You can't meet them because they won't even agree to that and you're left with such a hole in your life. All you can say is

1. goodbye
2. goodbye
3. goodbye

From that point on this friendship you relied so much on no longer exists. Imagine trusting one single person so much and have that person do this to you. I guess this is a issue that mostly affects people with some degree of social anxiety, so I understand if you don't feel as emotional as I did playing this game.

For the game itself, it simulates that struggle described above in a 2002 style, with the AIM messenger and all those cheesy descriptions and icons that everyone back then had (and some still have today).

It's kind of hard to recommend this game, as it can be a saddening experience or a completely boring one, depending on which spectrum you are. But I'll recommend it anyway. Give it a try.

Great ARPG with some challenging bosses on hard.

It's not really long, but it was great while it lasted. The story could be considered cliché and boring, but it was well executed and the endings, any of them, could be a fitting end for that story. The soundtrack is great as well.

Totally recommended for anyone that likes RPG's and Action games. You have nothing to lose, and it's better than some 10€ RPG Maker games here.

Good platformer, but it runs short. You can expect to do a sub 40 minutes playthrough of this game in your first try. It doesn't try to be overly complex, and you should also be able to get all achievements in under 4 hours. In terms of longevity, it might not be worth the full price. Still, it's a fun platformer with good music, as these games should be.

Definitely recommend it at a discounted price.

A very good platformer, despite it's simplicity.

It involves some timing, skill and precision to complete some of the puzzles in this game. The game itself is a bit short, but it still has some extra game modes, like time trials where you try to complete the levels within the time limit without dying and catching all of the collectibles at the same time. Some challenges might be a bit frustrating if you start failing some things time and time again (I'm looking at the zone "Doing Things The Hard Way"), but, as it is to be expected from a game like this, being able to complete it gives an incredible sense of accomplishment. And on top of all that, the game also has some user created levels, with challenges not seen in the main story.

Also, the soundtrack. It is amazingly addicting. The way it fits each level is simply perfect.

I recommend this game to people seeking a platformer easy to play, but hard to master.

If you never played this game, and you love first-person shooters, remember to give this game a try. You won't regret it.

Best action first-person shooter of its time and it still holds up today in its genre.
