*If you like very basic deckbuilders.
It has a charm about it, obviously graphics are very simple. As far as I can tell the story is nonexistent.
Having said this, it's one of those simple roguelikes that us easy to understand with a surprising layer of depth to the game.
for a 7 dollar game it's solid.

Further evidence that FromSoft really knows how to make a game.

I ended up submitting for a refund for this game after an hour.
In that hour, I decided it just wasn't for me. It's charming enough, and the music is pretty good, but I couldn't draw myself into it.
If you really like survival games with charm then you'll likely be into this one. I really wanted to like it myself.
I think I'll leave this with a recommend because it was clearly made with love, but it just didn't appeal to me right now.

Honestly, I thought it had promise. I really wish I hadn't paid for dlc. But it's a pretty basic and unexciting survival game, honestly I find it more frustrating than anything. The cooldown on the dodge and counter alone should be a red flag to any action fans looking to play this game. It makes combat feel borderline insufferable.

This game brings me back to the best SNES games I ever played. If you enjoy a satisfying grind and gameplay, and don't mind finding secrets to progress the story, this game is it. I love it.

Honestly, this is a hard one not to recommend, but I don't recommend it regardless. The dialogue is great if nordic mythology and lore are your thing, which it is for me. The gameplay is super fun, I'll admit. But the game is so, ridiculously grindy. I don't often say things like "I feel like this game doesn't respect my time," but I feel like this game really didn't respect my time.
It's hard to want to even finish it when you know you're in for what will end up being a completionist level grind just to move forward the way you want to.
I got it on sale and honestly, unless you're really craving some vikings, just skip this one. It's fun, it just discourages you from wanting to play more.

Everyone is saying this is better than Vampire Survivors.
It is.

I get to smash things with other heavy things. 10/10
