While I knew how to plant, Summer taught me how to play music to them for them to thrive. This oddly dressed snake seemed to have everything worked out. I heard her play softly in the garden, and my crops were taken care of. After a long rest, however, it was clear that she wasn't going to be around very long. She took me to a high mountain to find calm. I could tell she was old, sleepy, and full of lifelong turmoil turned into sublime peace. After the last bout of dragon-wrestling out on the high seas, she realized that she was ready to go, despite her failures and successes.

I simply wasn't ready. I just wasn't. I remember Gwen heading off, and, though beautiful, I accepted her leave willingly, and her vacant home would stand as a monument to how much she helped me understand this new world. and I shared a cup of black coffee with all of my shipmates. I moved on. Summer was different, and I wasn't sure why.

But she left, filling a huge void, her unique flower bouquet overflowing her hammock. Softly, I played the song she taught me over some carrots and cried.
