- the sony situation is not actually fixed or permanently removed from the table
- super unstable and can only be fixed by going dx11 at some systems but the option is not available from menu
- ttk on almost everything is unfun
- flailing approach to "balance"
- unfortunately community is also turning toxic and even more meta or "git perfect" minded

Very solid demo with oneiric atmosphere similar to that in risk of rain, the game also borrows mechanics from it in the most general sense but spins them in solid and fresh enough way.
Timewise, about an hour of gameplay should unlock you every character in the demo.

All around very good game offering a lot of nonlinear gameplay option to solve problems or progress plot.
Backed by the cast of excellent NPCs to adventure with and a solid story, easily GOTY for 2023

unoptimised and gameplay feels uninspired in design. there are barebones of interesting mechanics but that's it.

This is not a strong no, but a no nonetheless. if you want wh40k flavoured hack and slash to just spend few hours in it's fine, enjoyable even. There is enough of fun numbers go up and becoming a one person walking carnage to hit spots on mechanics being fun checklist.
However this game doesn't respect player's time and said time investment down to the core mechanics.
First off - it's always online requirement. A bizarre choice in a game largely geared towards pve and solo or coop content. More so it creates various mechanical hurdles in 'end-game' coop modes as it forces end of mission even if crusade (type of said content) side objectives are not done or found.
It also forces a limited inventory, and more importantly limited character slot inventory. Meaning with 10 slots and heavy focus on seasonal gear being better, means sooner or later you will have to say goodbye to gear you have grinded for.
Second point is said seasonal content. It's not only time limited, but never returning (aside from some shards and mechanics/ maps). Meaning, there is a content in a /largely single player game/ which gets artificially gated behind time, fomo, and grind.
Not cool.
Third off, the game tries so so hard to be mmo like. Various sub currencies, weekly mechanics, shops on timers, mission roll on timer. Sometimes it feels like they wanted to go full life service but had to scale back from lack of, by my guess, money.
There's even micro-dlc store for one of the currencies if you want to not spend irl money on those. Which makes me question why not release them either as bundled content pack for irl money only, or as free dlc.

Also since the move of servers to AWS various in-game shops have very poor response time.

A good puzzle in the vein of hitman/ tomb raider/ deus ex go with solid pixel art and music to much. The puzzle difficulty curve feels fair and well implemented undo mechanics smooths the gameplay further. Aesthetically coherent, it offers a fun experience for fans of things mentioned above, especially as it's very reasonably priced.

The intro story could've been better spaced by sprinkling the slides between intro area levels, but it's workable.
I'm looking forward to either

As for the purely technical issues issues that should be addressed:
- no exit button on menu screen, requires to alt+f4.
- tutorials replay every time you start the relevant section. They can be skipped fast but it's still a bit detracting from experience since getting all medals requires at least one replay.
- no way to play with controller. It might be that the game somehow doesn't see mine, but there is no way to switch controls in settings either.

Out of two hours, about 70 minutes were spent in queue.
And then, no matter what time of a day i tried to play it, there was a queue in few K users range.

On gameplay note, it felt competent but rather hollow and barebones.

Trans rights are human rights.

the actions of devs invalidate that in game, hence the review.
