Amazing. Act 3 takes a significant loss in quality, but still playable.

It's definitely got it's optimization flaws, but it's singlehandedly the best bus simulator on the market. There are some that have much better graphics, but don't feel like a sim, and more of an arcade game, and some who may be good one day, but are just too broken to compare. It's unfortunate that the only time this game ever gets "updated" is for DLC releases, which sucks because it is in dire need of a remodel of the core code for stability's sake. But modding (maps, buses, liveries, repaints, etc.) really stretch out the life of OMSI. I wouldn't recommend it at full rpice, however, because it just doesn't look like anything will ever improve.

Consistently crashes every 10 minutes on average. And not just a normal crash; a crash that makes it impossible to close the game at all, forcing you to restart the entire PC. No thanks, Dambuster Studios. No thanks.

We'll just reuse the same enginge they said. No one will notice they said.

At this point in time, even a powerhouse like Bethesda has to take responsibility for shoddy work. This is very obviously a port from consoles, and the UI design as well as general movement (and unfortunately graphical capability) is purposely and unapologetically geared directly for it. You've heard the stories about mouse KB+M controls being wonky and almost unusable (granted this is a relatively easy fix, but no PC gamer should ever have to edit .ini files for a brand new game to make it usable on the PC); you've heard the stories about the UI being optimized for a controller (such as having to press 'Enter' to accept commands, making it necessary to move your right hand from the mouse; or having many menu/build settings unable to harness the use of the mouse scroll wheel; or not being able to exit from a menu with the same button that you used to enter it, having to use Esc or some other button). And sadly, you heard about (or even saw for yourself) the dated, lackluster graphics, lazily carried over from Skyrim, yet somehow looking even worse. Sometimes horrible textures, lack of ambient occlusion in many indoor settings (do objects not cast shadows indoors if they are being hit with natural light?), and don't get me started on character models and facial animations (Fallout 1's were better than this). It's sad when people say that the story in a Bethesda game doesn't really matter all that much, since when you don't have a story, AND you don't have workable functions or next-gen graphics that you'd expect from a AAA title in late 2015, what else is there? Should we all just protect Bethesda and rely on the help of underappreciated, 9-to-5 job modders to fix this unfinished mess? Is that really the current model these days?

It's not the broken release we wanted, and it's also not the one we needed right now.

Finally.....

So I'm running an overclocked i5-3570K (Ivy Bridge) and a GTX 970 and the game runs great maxed out. I turn off vsync and refection quality lower since that seems to give me stuttering issues (probably related to RAM), but everything else is pretty much as high as it can get. I float around 60-70 fps even with population density all the way up, though it does drop considerably when in a vehicle in first person. Not sure what that's about, but they may have a fix for it down the line. The game itself is expectantly great, nothing different from the console versions. Haven't dabbled in Online or Heists yet, but I'm sure they're just as good as they were on consoles, although I'm expecting a serious frames drop, but that's bound to happen in a multiplayer setting. All-in-all, if you lost your social life playing the console versions and you want the benefit of higher graphical capabilities and future modding, then don't hesitate to buy the game. it's good 98% good to go. Anxious to see what the modding community will do with this thing down the road.

Early Access Review
Needs work. Still buggy as hell, even in single player. Will play again when it gets rid of most of the bugs and implements new features. It's pretty easy as of now to just cycle through the small pieces of your shelter that break off during a horde attack. No real challenge.
