I give this a "yes" recommendation, but there are a few things to say...

This game improves on Borderlands 1 in the story department and it also adds some excellent characters. Handsome Jack is an outstanding antagonist, and the voice acting for the character is tops. There is quite a range of environments as well. And there are a lot of guns with a lot of styles.

But there are weaknesses as well. To me, a lot of the guns don't "feel" as good as they did in the first game, especially the Jakobs sniper rifles, which don't feel as solid. Also, while there are a lot of new and different weapon designs, a lot of them just seem silly looking; more form than function. Also, it seems that loot-farming is (deliberately?) broken. Drop rates for decent weapons is really low, and weapons become obsolete rather quickly as you level up, so you often end up having to make do with mediocre junk rather than weapons you want to play with. When you do finally find one you really like, it becomes useless sooner than similar situations in BL1.

Also, it seems that this one is even more geared towards co-op than even BL1 was. There are several loot-bosses around in the game and DLC that are absolutely impossible to attempt alone, which means we single-players are basically locked out from some parts of the game. Contrast to BL1 where there wasn't a single thing that couldn't be done alone.

The game is fun enough though. Story-wise it is a step up from BL1. In other ways I feel it is a step down. Overall, worth playing.

Dishonored is good. Really good. Fun gameplay, amazing atmosphere, excellent voice acting, and very good story. It all comes together to make a rather excellent game. I honestly cannot think of anything I don't like about this game. It's definitely worth getting if you like a good story-driven FPS.

This game is often on sale for $0.99 or less, and at that price, I think it is definitely worth it.

There are a lot of negative reviews for this game, and they aren't entirely wrong, but I don't think it's a terrible game. It has its ups and its downs and a full load of meh. So, let's break it down. Warning: Minor spoilers, but nothing that really gives away the story.

Positives:
- The water physics: they are definitely cool and a major positive. I wish more games would make such use of flowing water physics to affect the characters and environment. It is fun to use water flooding to disorient your enemies and sweep them off their feet, it's neat how the intensity, direction, and depth of the water flow affect your own movement and so on. In some cases, you can see flooded compartements behind glass barriers, and if you shoot out the glass, that water floods into an area to have several effects. Similarly, some destructable leaky bulkheads can be shot out for similar effects, in some areas even completely filling the corridors and compartments you are in, which can be a danger but finding an air-pocket is usually not too hard.
- Use of the environment as weapons: not just the water, but leaky gas pipes, explosive panels and barrels, electrical panels and wires... all can be used strategically to trap and take out groups of bad guys.
- The "Mavi" device: I found the way you can use it to scan and control somethings in the environment as well as see invisible messages and such pretty nifty. Not awesome, mind you, but cool enough.

Negatives:
- The voice acting: it's very weak, and I'll be surprised if you don't find the main character's voice to be whiny and annoying.
- The keyboard and mouse controls: if you play this game, you'll definitely want to do it with a controller. Controlling with a keyboard and mouse is just really wonky. It's not perfect with a gamepad but it is much better and will save you a lot of frustration, especially later in the game when it comes to controlling water.
- The final boss battle is pretty terrible and frustrating until you figure out what to do. It's darned near impossible with keyboard/mouse controls.

The meh:
- The story is really weak. It wanted to be something good, but the writers didn't pull it off well.
- The gameplay in general. It's not terrible but it isn't very good either. It tries to combine a lot of things: cover-based shooting, tomb-raider style climbing and platforming, and a bit of "magic" in the form of a nanobot infection giving you the ability to somewhat control the water. But it doesn't do any of these these things particularly well.
- The challenge room is pretty dull (unlocked upon completing the game), and the gameplay is not good enough to make it much fun. Only worth playing if you must go for 100% achievements.

This game doesn't do a lot, so don't expect a lot. It wanted to be something amazing and utterly failed at that, but there is fun to be had. I think you can easily get several hours of enjoyment out of it for $0.99 when it's on sale, but don't go in with high expectations and you won't find yourself being too disappointed. Again, playing it with a controller is pretty much a must.

I ended up putting in way more hours than I ever thought I would in playing this game. All in good fun, though. It's a good top down space shooter with a lot to do, some quirky humor, and several different ways of playing (though maybe only a few work best in Insane difficulty -- canons and stealth are your friend until you build up the tech to face things head on). It can be a bit grindy at times, especially when you get to the Zombies part of the title, as you'll want to acquire powerful tech and ship blueprints to deal with them (and this goes double especially on Insane difficulty). But, if you get into it, you'll barely notice all the time pass until you've suddenly put in over 100 hours.

A good, well-put together game at a cheap price. Worth the full price. A no brainer when on sale. :)

Bioshock Infinite (and its DLCs) is an outstanding game, and a worthy addition (perhaps conclusion?) to the Bioshock Series. Great story-telling, incredible environment, wonderful ambiance, and simply superb voice-acting combine to make this pretty much a must buy.

It's major weakness is its combat. It's not terrible, mind you, but it isn't great, either. Unfortunately, more of the game is combat oriented than you'd probably want it to be, and you may find yourself wishing there were more non-combat sequences so you could spend more time exploring and enjoying the amazing environment of Columbia.

But, despite any weakness in its combat, it is simply an outstanding game with one of the best NPC companions in a game so far. Elizabeth is an amazing character, and though the game may look like a lot of it is an escort mission, it almost never feels that way.

Worth it at full price, and definitely a no-brainer when on sale. Get this game. :)

This game is great, and anyone who enjoys a good western will enjoy this game. The gameplay and gunplay is really good, the narration is outstanding, the story is good, and overall it's just a hell of a lot of gunslingin' fun.

BONUS: It's from UbiSoft, but it DOES NOT use UPlay, so for those of us who hate that crap, it is a safe buy. :)

This game is one of the best games I have ever played. The world is intoxicatingly beautiful, well built, and full of mythology and backstory, the story and questlines are interesting, and the gameplay is fun. You want this game. Really. Why are you still reading this review instead of pressing the "Add To Cart" button? ;)

One thing worth noting: you DO want the ultimate edition with all of the DLC included for two reasons: 1.) The DLC is all an excellent addition to the game and you don't want to miss it, and 2.) many mods require having all of the DLC, and chances are you are going to want to mod this game.

Don't get me wrong; straight out of the gate the vanilla game is wonderful, but the mod community is excellent and so many mods enchance things without breaking lore or changing the fundamentals, so you'll want to get in with them.

For a Batman: Arkham [something] game, this game was incredibly weak and full of bugs. It wasn't terrible, but they managed to make the most important part of the game frustrating and inconsistant: the combat. In the previous Arkham games, combat flow was silky smooth, and guiding the Batman around the fight was intuitive and consistent. In this game, that all goes away. It is incredibly hard to maintain freeflow, often at no fault of the player (Batman seems to randomly miss blocks and strikes, no matter how you are aiming the camera, and sometimes it is impossible to target the opponent you want, with it seeming like Batman is attacking everyone except the baddy you want him to take out). If these issues were consistent and predictable, it wouldn't be a big deal, but as they aren't, fighting goes from fun to frustrating in a hurry.

Going back and playing Arkham City after playing this game was like a breath of fresh air.

This game could have been a worthy addition to the Arkham games, but when it breaks the very thing that makes the Arkham games so much fun, I just can't give it a positive recommendation.

This is a good zombie apocalypse survival game. If you like fighting zombies and you like exploring open worlds, then this may very well be a game for you. Minor quibble: once you start accumulating survivors, it can be annoying that the only one able to get anything done is the character you are controlling (even though you can change characters easily so really any of them should be able to deal with various problems), especially when several things are happening at once or you just want to explore and gather supplies rather than dealing with stuff. Another possible annoyance is that the game world continues when you quit the game, which means you need to leave your home base with enough supplies and high morale whenever you quit playing, or you may find everything FUBAR when you launch the game again.

Otherwise, this game is good fun, and exploring open spaces full of zombies is rather intoxicating. I definitely recommend it. :)

The Good about Breakdown: the progression of difficulty is excellent. It starts off fairly easy, on par with starting the main game, but after a few levels it gets quite tough. Zombies start coming out of the woodwork at the slightest sound, special types become more common, etc. While it's possible to play the regular game and not have a single character die, this is quite difficult, if not nearly impossible in the Breakdown DLC. I like this.

The Bad: It's repetitive. It's the same valley over and over again. Also, it's really not worth the $6.99 price, as this really should be a game mode included with the base game. To charge so much extra for it is terrible.

The Verdict: If you like the main game, then you do want this. However, wait until it's on an extreme sale, because it's not worth the full price.

The good about Lifeline DLC: New environment, new style of playing, new missions, new weapons, and new characters. Actual C in this DLC. Overall it's pretty good, especially since the developers have done a good job keeping up with and squashing bugs.

The Bad: the only bad I can really think of is that it wasn't open enough. You are confined to a ring-road around a city and a few neigborhoods around exits on that road, but you don't get to penetrate into the city as it is walled off (granted it's full of zombies and would definitely be a death-trap, but still it would have been cool to try to sneak in and around the tall buildings and stuff even if it was almost certain death). A very minor disappointment, but there it is.

The Verdict: If you like State of Decay so far, then you'll almost certainly enjoy this. And I'll say its even worth getting at full price. A worthy addition to the game that you won't feel that you shouldn't have had to pay for.

This is a fantastic reboot to the Tomb Raider series and a very good origin story for Lara Croft. Though the puzzles could have been more difficult, the combat feels good, and the game feels like just as much of a Tomb Raider game as Anniversary, Legend, or Underworld. If you liked those games and you want to see a younger Lara Croft grow into a badass, then this is definitely the game for you. Tomb Raider fans will not be sorry to get this game. :)
