The first couple of times I tried this game, it didn't grab me. I gave it a third try recently and for some reason I am hooked. It's a slow moving game and can be frustrating until you figure out some basics of what it expects of you, but it is interesting exploring and uncovering more and more stories while managing your terror and supplies. The soundtrack really sets the mood, and there is a lot to uncover.

All in all it's somehow a very relaxing stressful game. ;)

Also, Mac users: don't let the warning on the Steam Store page scare you; this game does indeed run just fine under macOS 10.15 Catalina. It's a 64bit game and everything runs just fine on my old, barely capable of running much 2014 13" MacBook Pro.

It's cute. It's fun. It's not too difficult (until your NG+ Second Run, which is definitely a challenge). It's surprisingly not too frustrating, though you might expect it to be given the premise.

It's a good game. Get it. On sale, it's a no brainer.

Very good puzzle game with excellent atmosphere. The primary game mechanic of cloning yourself and sending your consciousness to different clones sets up some pretty nifty and clever puzzles. The story gets revealed as you explore and is a bit thought-provoking leading to a rather interesting choice at the end.

Though this won't be relevant for most users, I do appreciate that the game runs smoothly on my mid-2013 MacBook Pro 13", since my gaming is limited to whatever can play on that at the time of this review. So, it's a good game that can definitely run on weaker systems.

The only weaknesses for me were:
1.) the game was rather short - I rather enjoyed exploring the environment and uncovering lore, and would gladly have spent a few more hours doing so.
2.) the hidden rooms mechanic was rather boring, rather reminding me of older games like Doom and Wolfenstein 3D in which you'd basically run around randomly checking every wall for hidden doors; I prefer following clues to find secrets rather than random trial and error until you find something
3.) It would have been interesting to have been able to see stats for the final choice to see how your choice compares to others who have played

Anyway, overall it's a pretty good game, probably worth full price, definitely worth it on sale.

I typically enjoy typing games, and this one is no exception. I wouldn't call it great, but it's a decent way to pass the time, and the origami style world is quite pretty. The story isn't all that deep or compelling, but it is fun enough to wander around and type words to kill bads. ;)

Do you like getting emotional and having a game make you cry? Then play this.

I don't really like RPG Maker type games all that much, because I generally find the gameplay to be rather dull. This one is no exception in that respect, but the story, backed by a beautiful musical score, of this game makes it all worth it. It's really beautifully done.

This is a charming platformer with a pretty cool concept with it's mix between being a shadow cast on the wall and a character in the world. It's a fairly easy, stress free game with decent characters and voice acting, beautiful style, good music and for the most part pretty good gameplay. The only minus is that it's a pretty short game, but it's also a pretty expensive game. Worth getting at full price, definitely if it's on sale.

I'm way late to the party, and I played this game well after having spoiled for myself the plot and twists and so on (hard to avoid the talk over the years, and it was actually Eurogamer's Let's Play videos of this series that made me want to play it myself). That didn't seem to make playing it for my self any less of an emotional gut-punch. Dontnod nailed it, and this game is a beautiful work of art full of amazing visuals, great characters, fantastic voice acting, perfect music, and a deep meaningful story.

I recommend having someone or something nearby to hug after playing this game. You're probably going to need it.

This game is relaxing, stress free, and just plain pleasant. As someone who typically goes for more action-y and story-driven games, I wasn't expecting this game to really be my style, but is rather quite fun and full of charm, full of cute moments that should put a smile on the face of the most jaded gamers.

If you want a break from being busy, or from the stress and tension of so many other games, this little farming community simulator (plus a lot more) may be right up your alley. Check it out.

(note: I have not yet played co-op mode and so can't speak to whether and how much it adds to the game)

[EDIT] I am pleased to also point out that this excellent game runs just fine on macOS 10.15 Catalina, so if you are a Mac user looking for a good, casual, stress free game to enjoy, this is definitely worth grabbing.

This game is absolutely AMAZING! Excellent gameplay, reasonable difficulty (i.e. "Normal" is actually pretty challenging, "Hard" was too hard on my first play-through, "Nightmare" must be near impossible, especially for a new player), and a very VERY good sci-fi story with a pretty neat twist at the end.

Mind you, the actual ending of the game comes after the end credits, and your end credits scene and outcome will depend on how you played the game and what choices you made.

Also, this game runs exceptionally well. I was quite happy to get average 60FPS on the "High" preset with Anisotropic Filtering set to 16x (the only setting I had to change because for some reason maxing that is not default in every game) on my aging MSi GT60 2PE Dominator Pro with GeForce GTX880M. This was a pleasant surprise after having Dishonored 2 perform nowhere near as well (had to turn most things to medium or low and lower the resolution to get playable frame rates in that game). The only exception to this is the Power Plant Reactor area, where framerates could drop to as low as 19FPS (though I've seen on the forums that even people with GeForce 1080 cards are seeing this, so it may be a bug that can be patched). Two things lacking in the graphics settings, which may be fixed in upcoming patches, are FOV and disabling motion blur. You can fix those in the config file, though (though with motion blur, the game will keep resetting it unless you set the config file to read-only or make a batch file to set it every time you launch the game -- check the forums).

Seriously, this game is just about perfect for a single player, science fiction, story-driven game with a lot of freedom to explore how and when you want and in how you play the game and approach solving problems in the game. If you've been thinking you might want this, allow me to say YOU DO! GET IT! I think it's worth the full price, but if that makes you hesitate then get it on sale. ;)

Like: the game is gorgeous, atmospheric, in a world you want to know more about, and with competent platforming and decent puzzles. It is fun and engaging to play, and I felt it did well with the timing of finding the next thing to do before wandering to it became tedious.

Dislike: the game is very short -- I was able to do two play-throughs to get 100% achievements in 4hrs total (1st play-through was organic and maybe 3hrs, 2nd was using a guide and skipping around to find what I'd missed)--, the story such as there is gets you wanting to know more about this world and what is going on and then ends leaving you feeling rather unfulfilled and WTF?-ish

I got this at 40% off because of a coupon they gave LIMBO owners, and I'd say that was a fair deal. I don't think I'd recommend this game at full price, because of my dislikes, mainly the length -- I know quantity isn't everything, but the quality here, while good, doesn't make up for the lack of quantity at that price point.

However, I'd absolutely recommend getting it on sale. It's a decent way to spend a few hours. :)
