The menus look like they are from 20 years ago.
The multiplayer is a little bit better than HD, but if you get a lag spike the game freezes for several seconds, sometimes it doesn't even come back for a couple of minutes, when the server has already decided that you disconnected.
And once the server thinks you are disconnected the game is over. Also if the game crashes there is no way to go back into a multiplayer game.

It is a good game, becuase the original Age of Empires 2 was a great game. But for them to charge you for the same content for the third time and call it definitive when there are clearly big issues ...

Edit: After the last update I have seen many improvements. The crashes does not happen as often as before. Now they are only a rare occurence. Still there is no way to go back to the game. Also the fact that they are balancing the civilizations is a great feature, it brings dynamism to game which is appreciated.

Although I am still not completely convinced by the game, now I would say it is a good buy for the price.
