Hogwarts Legacy is a game that I’ve wanted since I was a boy; this experience was not the most innovative, or even one conducive to many playthroughs; but it is still..magical? The sheer joy I felt being able to moderately immerse myself in my favourite childhood fantasy is one I will cherish, as it fulfills a core desire many kids of my generation, and even countless ones after, have had.

I had and still have a massive learning curve to overcome with this game, but my god, my younger, WW2 Obsessed self is filled with joy every time I play this game. Beyond that, all of the Mods, the strategies, the Meta, and the potential for roleplaying adds even more layers that compound that enjoyment.

I could do a deep dive into critiques and analyzing each and every nook and crannie, but I do not conceive of myself as qualified enough to do so. There are gamers well versed in this and similar titles that can provide that insight for you.

If you are seeking an imperfect, albeit incredibly rich world of Miitary and Global conquest that could provide endless hours of and opportunities for experimentation, this title may satisfy your wishes. This game's reputation is a meme but all well deserved for most of its high points.

TL;DR 9/10: Great Story, Nostalgic, Action packed, Iconic, Fun Gun Play.

Call of Duty 4 was the first game I played after Halo 2 that really made me passionate about gaming. The story even when I was only 11 years old, left an impression on me. Years later, seeing the current geopolitical situation unfold in Ukraine, and everything else occurring internally in Russia, leads me to believe the writers back then possessed a greater understanding of geopolitical trends and ideas than most give them credit for. Of course, this was later seen in the Black Ops series and additional Modern Warfare entries, despite the two being made by different studios. I also enjoyed the sections in the Middle East, but of course, that section was very surface level in analysis due to the environment of the time that still exists today. When depicting militant Islam, it is harder to not step on toes than when addressing Russian/Soviet nostalgic Ultranationalism.

In terms of Gameplay, like many Call of Duties, the action is solid. Although, when compared to modern tactical experiences like Ready or Not, it doesn't even rate in that regard. (Mile High Club on Veteran may be an exception, albeit a cheap one due to enemy aim-bot and bad movement at times. Still, a fun mission.) However, playing the story is satisfying and makes one feel like they are in a moderately informed action movie or book/novel experience. The characters, although not given in depth presentations, are still rather memorable. All Ghillied Up/ One Shot, One Kill) are an all time Iconic pair of levels.

The Arcade mode was fun, and provided some replay value, although I just kept roleplaying as an operator and didn't tease out the mechanics much. The Multiplayer, especially in the remaster was well done and better balanced than later experiences. I played for only a few months when the remaster was launched in 2016, but back with the original, I was part of the burgeoning competitive clan culture that defined that era, and enjoyed trying to quickscope my way to glory.

The Remastered edition obviously can't transport me back into that period of my life, but it is a quality nostalgia trip and the gun play, missions, multiplayer maps, and overall package still represents a high point in the first person shooter genre.

I am about 7 years late, but this game has provided my favorite slice of high fantasy since LOTR when I was a young boy.

The Story, side quests, and immersion are unreal. I can get lost in the political drama, the plight of the suffering, the hope of the idealists, and the cynicism of the Witcher all with equal conviction. Geralt is a stellar character, showing glimpses of emotional depth when venturing out to look for his surrogate daughter, dealing with the fate of villages of young children, or when parsing through his love interests. Yennefer, Triss, and Ciri are all gorgeous and have enough complexities to convince one they are real entities.

Dandelion, Johnny, and the one liners such as "Damn, you're ugly" add levity to what is typically a colorful, but brutal and dreary atmosphere.

I still have at least two full playthroughs I wish to undertake, on top of the two massive DLC packs. If you have yet to delve into this game or the expansive Universe it spans across literature, games, and T.V, don't deprive yourself further.

Fallout: New Vegas is an adventure unlike any other I have undertaken in gaming. TL;DR: 9/10.

When I first played New Vegas, I was a complete newcomer to the franchise; I had not even played more than 5 minutes of Fallout 3 at a mate's house.

First stepping in, this world was different from what I was used to as a non-rpg gamer. You start off weak and with a scarce amount of clout. Over a steady progression through the environment around you, you become stronger, wiser, and the gravity of your choices become more significant and relevant.

It goes without saying the journey is worthwhile, in no small part owing to the various choices, actually consequential in nature, one can make

This is a universe filled with Satire, Macabre themes, A menagerie of Glitches, and some unfair Balancing Mechanics.

Bearing those observations in mind, this is an adventure game that stands the test of time. Narratives, and the stories we project onto them more so, are what ingrain experiences into our memories. Fallout: NV is a prime example of what the medium can accomplish, and in my humble opinion is a testament to Human Imagination.

It is difficult to quantify what this game series has meant to me. To be honest, I played Red Dead Revolver when I was younger, and didn't appreciate it enough, so I cannot speak much to the original.

However, Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption II have provided me with the purest escapism, most joyous imaginative catharsis, and role playing avenues unrivaled by any other games.

I am mostly a Science Fiction junkie, and for a long time nothing would top Mass Effect, Halo, or Destroy All Humans in my opinion. However, these games create an experience that humanizes such a fantastical piece of history and American/Human Lore, and they do in such a way that achieves the greatest heights of the finest examples of literature or cinema.

Red Dead Redemption II, in particular, immerses you in the rich atmosphere, the incredibly nuanced characters, and the deliberate nature of every action. These details may seem oppressive early on, or even just excessive; I would disagree though, because as time goes on each element compounds until the spectacular tapestry comes together, seamlessly woven.

There is the matter of the often dysfunctional controls, and the disparity between commands and actions. Yet, regardless of these functional frustrations, my time as a fleshed out Outlaw has not been hindered to the point of despair, boredom, or dissatisfaction.

After nearly 150 hours, I am still stumbling upon secrets, idiosyncrasies, Easter Eggs, and ways to engage. In Online, the opportunities for constructing my own lore, building a consistent and successful Posse, and, enjoying the excellent menagerie of activities will keep me returning long after I achieve 100 % campaign completion.

This story made me cry, reflect, feel inspired, guilty, hopeful, flabbergasted, terrified, disappointed, and overstimulated in all of the best ways feasible.

It is unlikely that my words will provide my sentiments any justice, but thank you to all who participated in the creation of this series. It is near and dear to my heart.

TL;DR: 9.8/10. As much as online and the campaign can be a grind at times, I can truly call this masterpiece a Labor Of Love, as cliché as it sounds.

This game is among the most eerily immersive, terror inducing, adrenaline fueled experiences I have ever engaged in. The atmosphere is unbelievable, as is the attention to detail. Although I find it cumbersome to worry about other players at times, the joy of engaging in a frantic duel while hunting for clues can be the highlight of a given session.

Overall, I would recommend this game, and I would absolutely try to encourage a friend to play with you. The stories, emergent gameplay, and energy of this well crafted, innovative work of art make the price of admission well worth your effort and while.

This game is difficult to give a clear review on. I enjoyed the story and it's historical nuances quite a lot. With that said, it is not a stunner visually, as well as it's length leaves something to be desired, at least on my end. I have experienced two of the endings, and they were divergent enough. I may update this review after I complete everything.

If you enjoy games with some historical commentary, minutia, nuance, and divergent perspectives, give this one a try. It is a steal, and the story is mildly entertaining. If you are looking for a less story driven, action filled campaign, certainly consider looking somewhere else. This title is story focused, and gameplay is relegated to choices, some inconsequential, and a few button mash sequences.

This game is a blast, and truly encourages you to be vigilant and clever. The cosmetic items are not necessary, but add a great deal of fun to the product if you have some disposable cash. This is a buy, and the price is generous for the amount of time you will desire to expend, given this kind of experience allures you.
