Battlefield bros... We're finally home...

This game has so many good mechanics that you're just left wondering why on earth they haven't been part of the battlefield series a decade ago. To name a few:

You can drag bodies to safely resurrect someone or to deny enemies from doing it. Every class can resurrect using one of their precious bandages (that you also use to stop bleeding and heal yourself), the medic has 20 of them.

You can build structures basically anywhere. It feels good to set up useful sandbags and structures for redeployment that you can tell actually impacts the course of the game. Making a spawn bunker close to a contested point is very fun.

Being able to knock out a tiny piece of the wall as an embrasure to shoot out of is amazing. Granted this kind of destruction is possible because of the simplistic graphics. I don't care. Gameplay >>> graphics.

In short, this is the most fun I've had with a non-competitive shooter in a long while, I played nearly 12 hours straight after buying it.

The game is really fun, unfortunately some of the cards are just too powerful. How good you are at FPS games count for nothing when your opponents can pull cards (more than 1!) that makes them immortal. Many combinations are like pulling exodia from yu-gi-oh, you just win based on the luck of the draw. It isn't fun in TCGs and it isn't fun here.

If people ragequit you also gain nothing from the match

All in all the game is fun, but only for a while because of the aforementioned balancing issues.

His silly smile, his can-do attitude, his resourcefulness (in escaping the asylum), his unadulterated joy at his lot in life.

Monroe is a wholesome pick for any hunter wishing to project some positivity into a game that is very grim.

The best way to play Battle Brothers is to give nicknames and titles to each brother based on their feats in battle or whatever shenanigans they get up to. By naming them you bring them to life, and then you get invested in them.

Then turn on ironman mode and suffer. Suffer with your brothers.

I am incredibly impressed with this game. Any fans of FPS games with good movement mechanics, co-op shooters, or Doom should buy this.

Every mechanic the player has at his disposal was deliberately made to make you have a lot of fun and feel powerful. To list a few:

The guns feel great to use, especially when you find them with alt fire modes. They've got stats that actually make a difference. The weapon types are well executed and nearly all of them are fun to use, a few being just servicable. You've got infinite ammo, and your guns automatically reload over time when unequipped. Your melee attack has a very short cooldown, and depending on your class and upgrades, can feel incredibly impactful.

You can powerslide in any direction. If you jump out of a powerslide you gain speed, if you crouch while in a jump close to the ground, you enter a slide again, and keep your momentum. You chain these together and you end up going really fast.

The game does away with annoying roguelike/roguelite conventions, and takes only the best parts from the genre. You're not scrounging around desperately for health pickups because you accidentally took a little damage. You never feel like you had a terrible run because of RNG. The upgrades are incredibly good. They aren't like those worthless ubisoft-style '+2,5% more fire damage when underwater' upgrades. When you get a good synergy going, it feels like a roguelike god-run.

The enemies are varied, and have their own quirks and attacks you need to learn. There is a good variety of bosses to fight, all of which feel unique and are fun to fight. Some of the fights you can make significantly easier if you experiment a little. All of them drop healing orbs when they die (more drop if you melee them to death), which promotes an aggressive, but deliberate playstyle. You notice that as you get better you leave fights with more HP than you had when you entered.

The co-op worked flawlessly for me. No hiccups, no problems.

All in all, a 9/10 for me.

This game does so many things right, it's incredible. if you're itching for a great shooter, give this a go! 🤠

In other shooters where you spend your in-game money between games to buy gear it can often feel impossible to beat someone who has better gear than you. Not so in Hunt.

You get 25$ for picking up a single clue(you can grab six of them in total), 25$ for finding the boss, and 100$ for killing it. You get some money even if you don't extract (though extracting is obviously preferable). A 38$ springfield will kill in one headshot much in the same way the 490$ mosin nagant does. The mosin does a lot of things much better than the springfield, but the playing field feels very even.

While losing feels very punishing, you're never left feeling despair when you have to use cheap gear after losing a lot of money. The Romero 77, arguably the most reliable shotgun in the game, is also the cheapest. You get one free hunter after each hunt, so you're never left with nothing.

Winning is a broad term in Hunt. For some its about making more money than you spent, so even if you die, you still won in a sense. For some its killing the boss and successfully extracting. Some might like running headfirst towards the first sign of a gunfight, attempting to kill as many players as they can.
Personally I like this a lot about the game. It feels like you're winning more than in, for example, battle royales where you're less likely to win.

The sound design is nothing short of unbelievable, and every other fps on the market will feel inadequate after playing hunt. You can and will win fights based on audio alone. This, along with the fact that most walls in the game can be shot through, makes gunfights incredibly dynamic. Sometimes you're going guns blazing without a care in the world that everyone on the map can hear you, sometimes you're desperately trying to avoid aggroing a zombie because you're trying to hide and heal, and the noise he'd make would give you away. Sometimes you kill someone hiding inside a building through a wall because you heard him stepping on glass. Sometimes all of this happens in one fight.

I've ran into two cheaters in 200h at 5 stars (6 stars being the highest rank). It's been a while since I've encountered an FPS where I don't run into a cheater at least a few times per session.

That's about it. Have fun!

Fear & Hunger is a game I heard good things about, but personally, I struggled to find a single good thing about it..
Instead of oppressing you, the game seems intent on annoying you.

The game is an RPG about avoiding combat, when sometimes combat is unavoidable.
You spend most of the time trudging around looting barrels for random consumables, better hope you cover all your status effect bases, otherwise you're f*cked. There are many status effects. Bleeding anus was a really classy one(which can't be cured by consumables).
In a game where you already move slowly, you can end up hurting your legs, and then your character moves at such a slow pace that even if you had the patience, every enemy in the game will outpace you at this point, and combat is now unavoidable.
The combat is pretty normal turn-based RPG stuff, except for their dismemberment mechanic which ultimately just boils down to you chopping off the enemies' weapon hand, their other hand, their 'stinger', their legs and then finally their head. That or the enemy cuts off something like an arm and you lose the ability to hold a shield. Not fun, just annoying.
The dialogue and exposition are awkwardly written, and feature spelling mistakes. Even in the promotional images on the steam store. Even in the intro.
Your character moves only up, down, left, and right, when your path at times goes at an angle, making walking frustrating, especially when being chased by an enemy.

If you're looking for a good game with a grim atmosphere, look elsewhere.

If you loved the first one you'll love this even more. Incredibly good game that builds on the first one in all the best ways. If you don't care much about story and gameplay is the most important part for you in any game, you will find Nioh 2 to be so rich you'll feel underwhelmed by other games like it.

I'd advise awaiting for some serious bugfixing before buying. I like the game, I like the concept of the game, but in 30 minutes I've had four crashes and I've not managed to get through one round.
