Atlyss feels a lot like an evolution of older instanced MMORPGs into a fast-paced action game. Very responsive and snappy gameplay. You move fast, have a long dash and double jump, your block is instant but you are very squishy. The game and its enemies and bosses are built around the instant block and dash mechanics, so to survive you're expected to either get good at parries or dodging. If actually feels a little bit like playing GunZ.

Also, lets get it out of the way. Yes, your eyes do not deceive you, this is furry bait, however, you're not forced to create a character that looks like you took the wrong turn on twitter somewhere, and it is actually a good game.

The downside, like others have pointed out, is that there is not much to do at the moment when you've played for about 10-15 hours. The reason I feel comfortable recommending Atlyss is that, unlike many other early access games, Atlyss' gameplay in many ways feels done, now what's missing is more content. I recommend wishlisting it and checking in on it every month.

PoE2 came out, and I still played 100 hours in two weeks, and I still feel like I'm scratching the surface. 😳

This game has base-building, good crafting, interesting loot, dungeon delving, and lots of different mechanics that work together in surprising and delightful ways.

Few games are similarly open in how they let you use and abuse its mechanics, but in Elin, they aren't just wacky options with negligible upsides, in many cases is is the optimal way to play.

I highly recommend this game!

Fantastic game, it gets the blood pumping, and it is 100% worth climbing the initial hurdle!
Lots of negative reviews about pvp in a pvp game, its completely silly. If you like the full loot pvp extraction experience, the game is incredibly fun.

At first I found the game too hard and punishing. With it having no tutorial or clear indication of how to do things correctly, it can feel very frustrating as a new player, and it really was. I died a lot, got frustrated, and quit. This repeated about two more times because I WANTED to like the game. I loved the concept, but didn't get how to play it. Then I put on my big boy pants, watched some videos, interacted with the community, asked questions, got my ass kicked a lot, and then suddenly the game clicked. I started winning some fights, stopped dying (as much) to PvE, started earning gold.

As of the time of writing this, I have played 129 hours in two weeks 222 hours in concerningly few weeks, and I'm going to play more, way more!

I can't rightly give it thumbs down because it is still a pretty good game compared to the slop that comes out daily, and who knows, maybe it'll get better. It's just disappointing how it's not as good as the first one.

Combat feels less tight with the strange dodge+run mechanic, and coupled with charge-up attacks for every weapon, it breaks the intense, fast and beautiful flow that the Hades 1 combat had.

The weapons need a rework, they're all lacking in some way or another which means picking a weapon is picking your poison instead of picking between exciting options.

Worst of all for me is that the dialogue, characters, and plot were a step down from the first. I can't think of a single character I like. Sure, they're serviceable, but lots of them feel like they're just pandering, and are not fleshed out. This is a huge problem when talking to the characters feels like a predictable chore in between the rounds, instead of the reward.

God I hope the early access tag isn't just for show.

I've often felt I wanted to play a JRPG again now as an adult, but more often than not realized its best to leave them in the past. Newer JRPGs aren't much better, they're often very derivative in a genre that is already formulaic so you've seen everything they done before with more style and substance.

This was not the case with ASTLIBRA, which gripped me from the moment I started, and the only reason I'm not playing right this moment is because of real life responsibilities. It is the greatest RPG I've played in over a decade, and if you play RPGs for the mechanics, this game will be in your top 5 too.

I recommend you play on hell difficulty and skip the demo. You're gonna get bodied by the beginner slimes until you learn the mechanics, at which point this fantastic labour of love will click for you, and you're hooked.

This is a metroidvania... Technically.
It has the map, the secrets, the new gear that gives you movement tech that allows you to enter new areas.
But it doesn't have the cool combat, the RPG systems, the chill grind...

It is however one of the greatest puzzle platformers ever.
The items are very unique and leads to a lot of fun experimenting and eureka moments with what they allow you to do, all set in a world that is extremely stylish and beautiful and absolutely riddled with fun secrets. Strangely enough, given the cute graphics, the game has made me jump from time to time when predators do something unexpected (*cough* the ostrich chasing you into the holes *cough*)

I highly recommend it if you enjoy puzzle platforming, but if you're looking for a new Symphony of the Night, look elsewhere.

An animated horse skeleton peered over the edge of the waterfall, looking down into my base some 30 z-levels below. This enraged a human crossbowman visitor so much he swam up the waterfall to take potshots at the poor undead creature.

People talk about playing difficult games. If they haven't tried trackmania they have no idea.

Incredibly simple controls, unbelievably high skill ceiling.
If you're the type of person who feels motivated when faced with near impossible odds, this game is for you.

I work a job with an easy minimum quota, but rewards going the extra mile immensely.
It carries a 0% risk to myself because of top of the line gear and cloning tech.
I earn millions of dollars every shift, and every shift lasts only 15 minutes.
Rental and service fees for my cutting edge gear and facilities are only 500k a day.

And the idiots I work with want to unionize because of a billion dollar loan you can pay off within less than a year? Buncha low-earning socialists!
I WISH I worked for the LYNX corporation IRL.

SOME PEOPLE DREAM OF GREAT SALVAGE, OTHERS GO OUT AND MAKE IT HAPPEN.
