If you're huge DC, Arkham, or Kevin Conroy fan avoid at all costs. If you don't like looter shooters avoid as well. Otherwise beats the heck out of borderlands, destiny and Warframe for me. Don't get me wrong I still play Warframe. However how hectic this game gets is a blast. The verticality of the level design is awesome. Gameplay for me is just a step above the rest.

Writing is predictable but not horrible.

Graphically top notch.

Weird that king shark is using a mini gun? Absolutely, I just don't care about the DC skin or the fact that it takes place in the Arkhamverse. It also makes fun of itself as of to say "we know, but we had to include it somehow."

7/10 not goty but I hope this game gets to live out its clear 3 year plan.

2 hrs 3 games as fiend 1 as classmate. The queue is long as a fiend not so much as a classmate, which is typical for these asymmetrical games. Last Year has a smaller player base but it seems with the summer sale at least for now activity is picking up. There's very little progression and it's extremely grindy. If it can somehow survive while they add more things to the game maybe it'll become something great.

Do yourself a favor make sure you have at least 2 other people to play with before picking this up. As long as your server can find 3 other players you'll get going. As always though the more the merrier. If you're social enough their discord seems to have enough people on to get games going. A full party and killer separate this game more along the lines of Evolve and Predator with horror undertones in comparison to DBD or F13,

TL:DR Avoid Spoilers: One of the best "playable" TWD games, looking at you telltale. Light on story, but captures the world regardless. Gameplay fits, is repititive, ai is clunky, annoying voice lines, and it feels like a collection game. Worth $60? If you enjoy the grind of collection, and what makes TWD, TWD then yes. If not then no wait for a sale and for more content.



One of the better TWD games. Save for the story of Telltale. Really though those aren't so much games as choose your own adventure type animated book. Overkill's TWD is challenging especially solo. I hope they expand on the base building and even survivors.

Is it worth $60? well that's really up to you. What's your $60 worth? If you're the type that likes to farm pve junk, building everything up to max then yes. If not then no. Wait till the game has a few seasons under it's belt and is on sale. As for me I enjoy collection and time exclusives even if the gameplay is the same game after game.

OTWD is no Red Dead Redemption but its no less than a pve pubg, fortnite BR, COD, Battlefield. It will be added as a game I grind daily for a couple hours.

Edit 3/4 in the story: BEWARE The game captures TWD in the sense that no character is safe.

Beautiful game of exploration and gun play. The pre order guns are a bit op though and destroy the immersion of getting better weapons. 1930s voiceover does get a bit tiresome at times. I lowered it to medium. Looking forward to what they do with this game.

Somewhere Funcom lost it's sight on what a survival game was supposed to be. It started off decently challenging. However once you've reached around level 20-30 that challenge is taken away. The only thing that poses a threat to you and your base are other players... At certain times... If you're on a pvp server. Otherwise you plan your outings to specific biomes, for specific materials and ultimately the threat is null. As a Conan game and scheduled pvp raiding this game is okay. However if you were looking for harsh survival aspects you won't find it in this game. New threats do not appear as you grow.

861 hours. every patch changes the game by quite a bit. Get it when it's on sale and I'm sure you won't regret the purchase

When the game works and you're playing with friends it's a blast. Unfortunately it's plagued with day 1 issues. You're also expected to pay $40 because of content that's not yet released. It feels more like early access compared to an actual release. For this reason I can't recommend it for $40 unless you love some F13. I grew up with it so coughing up the $65 2 years ago will be worth it once I actually get onto the servers.

Don't expect a balanced game either. This isn't for competitive play and I hope they keep it that way. When that Jason music comes on so should the feeling of impending doom.
