this game is frustratingly difficult at times

but that's honestly not a bad thing. red hot vengeance feels like a love-letter to hotline miami, soaked in action movies. it doesn't feel lazy, there's quite a bit of care put into the gameplay so it feels relatively polished, though not perfect.

also, is one of the achievements a death grips reference?

Early Access Review
Some people will probably look at Ravenfield and get a bad taste in their mouths, because it is a $15 early access game. I firmly believe that Ravenfield is worth its $15 pricetag, however, for multiple reasons.

1. The gameplay (with some details spared).
Ravenfield is basically a war simulator of sorts. You pick a number of bots to play with, a map to play on, and a gamemode. You can pick your weapons before the game starts, as well as changing that loadout during the game. Once all that's done, you just get dropped into a battlefield alongside your bot brethren, in the midst of a large-scale battle. It's a rather enjoyable experience, with each weapon packing a fair bit of punch, bullets being able to knock down enemies alongside yourself, and every bullet being an actual projectile, which allows you to take into account bullet drop and travel time when attacking enemies. It's a simple premise, but it provides a lot of ways to create a fresh game. You can enable or disable weapons that each team can use, and you can enable or disable what vehicles are available to each team. All in all, it feels like a very solid experience, with a lot of thought and care put into how customizable the game is.

2. The content (that is, non-base-game content).
Despite being an early access game, Ravenfield has full workshop support. I, personally, can't comment on how easy or difficult it is to create weapons, skins, or vehicles for the game (maps excluded due to the addition of an in-game level editor), but I can say that you can get all of these things in spades on the Steam workshop. The base weapons and vehicles can, in some cases, leave something to be desired, and the workshop will ensure that you are not at all starved for new toys to play around with. There are all kinds of maps you can download to battle on, and plenty of skins to freshen up how your teammates and your enemies look. The workshop isn't left abandoned with each new update, either, multiple updates adding more options for workshop creators to play around with, as well as every update adding new things for the average players to use on a fairly consistent basis, updates being dropped every month or two. Be it new maps and weapons, new or revamped vehicles, brand new gamemodes, or the aforementioned level editor, again, you won't be starved for content.

3. The accessibility (or optimization, if you will).
When it comes to how optimized Ravenfield is, it can be a little shaky. Dropping 50+ AI-controlled characters into a map alongside a player can understandably take a toll on computers that don't sit comfortably on the high end of PC specs, and I myself can testify that this game can be a bit of a ♥♥♥♥♥ to run with background processes taking place, at least on the laptops I've played this game with (including the one that I use as of writing this review). However, I can also say that this game can run quite stably on even a laptop like the ones I've used, the least-powerful of which being a MacBook Air. The framerate isn't buttery-smooth 100% of the time, but with most background processes closed, it can hang around a rather playable medium. Hopefully future updates will add some more optimization, but as of now, the game is pretty playable and stable as is. The graphical options also allow for tweaking things down to an easier burden for your computer if need be, and simply playing with less bots on the battlefield can further help the experience to run a little smoother.

In conclusion, I'd say that if you enjoy singleplayer battles or first-person shooters, or just want to wage some war, Ravenfield is a neat little game to play, and even though the pricetag can seem off-putting, it's more than worth what it costs.

a friend gifted me this game, and i knew nothing about it

after finishing it, i can safely say that i was fully immersed into the story, and thought it was real until the credits came.
all in all, definately worth a play.

CS:GO Review
let me try writing a serious review of this game.

cs:go is pretty nice, if you look at main gameplay and mechanics.
the game focuses on accuracy that is both dynamic and relies on your ability to just aim well.

combat is pretty fast, you need to be paying attention to most of your environment, listening for footsteps and making sure nobody's hiding behind any corners, trying to ambush you. if anyone does manage to sneak up on you, usually it'll be a single shot and you'll be dead right then and there. and i like that.

sure the community is toxic, there's smurfs and hackers everywhere, and skins.

but i do think that this is a really nice game to just play on your own, maybe against some bots or something.
or even just mess around on co-op maps with your friends.

if you like the sound of that, then i would definitely recommend this game.
it's at least an 8/10 minimum in my eyes.

The only complaint I have is that I wish there were more superpowers.

Early Access Review
This game is an interesting one. It sort of takes DayZ and mixes it with a Minecraft-esque artstyle. Also it's REALLY. F###ING. SCARY. if you let it be scary :3 But I diagress. It's sort of choosy about if you are gonna get good things or bad things. Really just depends on getting lucky with the buildings you scavenge. And boy 'o boy are there a lot of weapons! (i recommend the fireaxe) Definately a game worth the download. (Just be ready to scream.) (A lot.)

TTT, Murder, Prop Hunt, all minigames that were made from Garry's mod. You can spawn stuff, kill stuff, eat stuff, and more. 10 dollars is the best price for this. Plus, this game is just made to mod and mess with.

1,000,000,000/10. Fifty bazillion kajillion zillion jilllion stars out of five. BUY DIS NAOW
