Nice graphics, mood, engine. Gonna have to get political back and give it a NOT RECOMMENDED due to the ham-fisted woke liberal messaging, from that "AI" dialogue nonsense about oppressed women (despite no women being demonstrated as oppressed whatsoever in the game world). Cheesy 4th wall break. Do better.

Derivative tripe which offers nothing new to the seasoned gamer and is a step back from the first game in terms of world building, storytelling, horror, pacing and overall enjoyment of the gameplay loop.

I spent 40 hours playing this generic garbage so that you don't have to! What we have here is an incredibly weak sequel that doesn't know if it wants to be a Far Cry or Just Cause clone, and instead of building on any of the systems established in the first game, most encounters devolve into a hack-n-slash button mashing fest as opposed to the physics oriented and more environmental based combat of the original.

There are plenty of better games out there far more deserving of your time. Even the star power of Rosario Dawson doesn't add any sheen to this decaying turd.

Worthy of the title!

Look, it's EA, load times could use work, there are some rough edges, but nothing a quick load of your most recent save doesn't fix!

Visually, aurally, artistically.. I'm glad they decided to keep making games like this!

Normally I'd refuse to pay full price for an EA title, but I did my brand research in Larian and who they are and what they promise. I decided to support them in this instance and am glad I did! All the foundations are there for one of the best games in recent memory.

Runs great at 1440p Ultra on my RTX2070.
A better experience than on the OG Xbox One, hands down :)

A battle royale game done right!

After 650+ hours in PUBG, I had gotten tired of fighting the game itself more than the enemy players. Assuming I was fortunate enough to even get into a match.. (OCE you see).

I had been loosely following Islands of Nyne for a couple of months as it certainly showed promise. Now that it's here I can honestly say that what you see is what you get. And what you get is what they promised. A fast paced battle royale game with snappy gunplay, streamlined looting and solid performance - assuming your PC isn't a potato. For reference I'm on a 7 year old i5 2500k (overclocked to 4.6ghz) with a 4 year old AMD R9 290x GPU and even now in its first early access iteration it hums along at a solid framerate, easily 80-100fps 99% of the time.

The matchmaking, queue logic (it will gladly kick a game off even if the server's not 100% full in the interests of saving time - a godsend for those of us in regions with lower playerbases and/or who can't play in peak times) and gameplay itself is the best in the genre.

If you want a serious first person perspective BR game made by devs that give a toss and listen to their players, then grab this game now and support it through its development. It's already more than playable - it's enjoyable!

What a journey!

With no weapons and only a handful of enemies I wasn't sure what to expect from this game so I held off on playing it for a while, but then I heard even more people recommending it (since it came to Xbox) so I decided to finally fire my PC copy up.

The graphics are very decent. Admittedly human character models are nothing to write home about, but the effects, lighting, architecture etc is spot-on. Artistically it's fantastic. But the audio is where this game really shines. I played with headphones on throughout, and I may as well have been there for how crisp and directional everything sounds.

Story wise, the thing plays out like a movie, but with that "choose your own adventure" twist. After playing this game, you might find yourself questioning the nature of reality.

9/10. Well worth the price of admission.

Old school shooter vibes at their finest.
It's fast, it's brutal, it's unforgiving, it's Quake!

The character abilities mix things up withing feeling overdone. The balance will be fine tuned in time I'm sure, but I like where this is going!

It was fun while it lasted.

I've been playing this game off and on since April 2017 when it become available for Early Access. Up until Version 1.0 this game had promise. Then it got swamped with cheaters. And microtransactions. And no updates that resolve the fundamental issues with the game - the laggy netcode, terrain clipping and overall clunkiness of the movement and physics engine. And cheaters are still prevalent. They're not subtle cheats either - search Youtube for "Shroud PUBG flying car" and you'll see what can happen due to abysmal server side data validation.

In Australia, good luck finding a match on a map you like. An update towards the start of 2018 broke the matchmaking and the player base plummeted from there.

After 650 hours I can't force myself to play this game any longer. They keep giving it a fresh coat of paint with things like a new map and new skins and guns, but it's all on top of the rusty chassis and failing engine.
