Horrible, horrible game.... I really, really wanted to love it, but it's absolutely abysmal.

Same enemies, over, and over again, are thrown at you, maybe slightly reskinned here and there, but overall every horde looks identical. You have to pump buckets of lead into each to put them down, just to get another hoarde thrown at you so you have to do it all over again. You die, constantly and you have to stare at the respawn screen forever...

Weapons are extremely inaccurate, constantly run out of bullets, and do very little damage, while the enemies absolutely slaughter you with overwhelming numbers. Menus, and interfaces are overly complicated, sometimes you have to drill through many menus to get where you want.

The graphics in this game are weird. While they look nice at first, upon closer inspection the cars, sleeping bags, tables, etc, etc - they dont look "real" they look like they are made of plastic. It feels like the only thing "real" in this plastic world is your character.

The only thing this game has going for it, is the great terrain graphics. I understand this game is not finished, but so far I am not impressed. This looks like a mediocre, plain RTS with RPG elements with absolutely nothing to set it apart from anything that came before. The storyline elements where you are walking inside the base and talking to your team are more annoying than useful making me want to just click through them to get to the action. Weapon effects and sounds are very underwhelming. You cannot zoom in to your units to see them upclose. I just dont see anything here worth the $9 I paid on HumbleBundle. If this was free, maybe I wouldnt be writing this review at all.

What an amazing game... This is easily better than Diablo 3. The only reason why so few play online is because of lack of playable classes and certain restrictions due to "van helsing" theme/setting.
Don't let this put you off. This game is worth every penny you pay for it. The graphics are awesome, and the environments are insane! Every monster looks great, and you can tell the devs really put effort into this game.
There is so many interesting things to do in Van Helsing. Sure, there is crafting, gambling and all that stuff. But there are various other things such as where you get to play tower defense! This game is awesome trough and through, and I just wish the devs wouldnt stop here and go on to create other similar games. They have a true gem with this one!

I highly recommend this game, especially if you don't care so much for online, and love single player PvE. Don't get me wrong, the online play is awesome and you can still find people to play with. Just don't expect full parties.

CoH 2 is not a bad game. It's just not a very good one. Like a lot of people said, it just doesn't offer much in the way of new over the original. The snow/freezing mechanic is more annoying than interesting and sometimes doesn't work well. If a groups of soldiers is warming by the fire and one of them is just a little further away he will freeze to death, and requires micromanagement to stay alive. The cinematics/cut-scenes are incredibly lame, and voice acting is bad. There is a lot that can be said and remembered about the Russian struggle against the Nazis, and it's sad that CoH 2 does such a poor job at it. Did CoH 2 try to do this? Absolutely. But the result is very mediocre.

The tons of expensive DLC which doesn't go on sale when the core game goes on sale is insulting to me as a fan of the series. Half of this stuff should have been given to players for free.

Still, CoH 2 is still CoH. I recommend it. There is still plenty to like here. Great battles filled with desperation, great units, wonderful graphics. We should praise CoH 2 even if it's only for trying, because there's so few RTS games these days. This game may not be worth it's original asking price, but it's definitely worth it's current sale price, and as time goes by it will definitely be worth ten bucks.

I gladly paid for this game, because I want to support the devs(not encourage them toward mediocrity) and I hope thanks to my support and other people like me, we can expect an expansion which will make this game better in all the areas it's lacking. No need for CoH 3!!! Just make this one better! It's not too late!

What a derivative, horrible game. Its basically identical to Crysis, with pretty much nothing new. It's several hours more of the same lame story, and mindless shooting at the same enemies, with same weapons, and same vehicles. Again, and again, and again. Cutscenes are often lame or plain silly, with voice out of sync with characters actions. Ending is lame and plain dumb. Just like Crysis, Crysis Warhead is more of a graphical demo, and system benchmark than actual game. Can get it for $5? Go ahead. Just to see the pretty graphics. Otherwise, save your money.

This is just overall a bad game. "All flash no substance". That would be the ideal description. Crysis is touted for its amazing graphics, and that's probably the ONLY thing this game has going for it. Especially for the time it was released it was indeed groundbreaking graphics wise, but other than that, Crysis is derivative, and repetitive. It's mindless shooting at its finest. The gameplay is simplistic, story is stupid, and cutscenes are horrendous. Bad voice acting, often voice is out of sync with craracters actions making certain things look plain stupid. Only i nthe end of the game does the story pick up and offer a somewhat interesting twist, but nothign we havent seen before. Crysis is shooting the same enemies in different environments with same weapons, again, and again and again, without anyhting new actually ever happening. If you cna get this game for $5 try it, its a destraction, if nothign more. But at a higher price, please, save your money. Crysis is more of a graphics demostration and a system benchmark rather than a game.
