This game drips personality and has some amazing crafting and base building mechanics. I was nervous about the combat in the game, which is very action-RPG esque, but I've learned to handle it well enough. The progression is good enough to keep you working, but not frustrating, at least on easy-mode.

Xenonauts 2 is a fantastic step forward from the original. The setting has been expanded on, and the Cleaners faction really adds a new dynamic to the early game. They still have one update left to go before the end game is in place, but it is already a very well polished product. The developer has taken their time to really make sure the game is great.

This game is delightful and difficult. It has exceeded my expectations. It has some rough edges, but it's also not an expensive title, so people need to chill.

So, this is actually JA3. It's been about 23 years since JA2, and this game is an actual successor. It is fantastic and I will likely play through it another dozen times, just like I did with JA2 and JA2 1.13. The biggest improvement is the map, which is a bit more dynamic and complex. The camera is a bit wonky to work with and stealth is a bit tricky, but it's not like stealth was a thing in JA2. Overall it is simply the perfect sequel to the perfect game. I sunk 50 hours in about a week despite real world responsibilities, so take that for what it's worth.

I don't understand the negative reviews of this game. There have been regular updates, well within what I would expect form a small team on an indy game. It is also sold at a very fair price point. I'm super excited to explore the new city.

Original review:
This game world is just dripping with personality. It is a pretty brutal medieval setting, and it isn't an easy game, but it is also not a hard game if you are careful. Save on exit works, as well as being able to restore from the last time you slept when things go sideways. And they will go sideways! Embrace the idea that combat is dangerous.

This is a very ambitious game. Possible the most ambitious game I have ever played, and it is made by a small team for a reasonable price. It has some serious rough edges, but at the end of the day I find it more charming than No Man's Sky and more engaging than Space Engineers. There is a lot of fun story to explore, despite some bad writing, and you can build tremendous stuff. There are interesting NPC's, despite the character models looking terrible, and the planets themselves are very beautiful. So yeah, diamond in the rough. It probably isn't ready for full release, but for the price and the content, I don't get how people justify a bad review.

This game has some pretty solid turn based combat with a Punisher type story line. It reminds me a lot of the original Jagged Alliance, with a grid based map and basic base functions. I really think it shows a lot of potential and look forward to seeing more from the developer.

You start out naked and get the chance to create a massive fortress filled with thralls. They've nailed the Robert Howard atmosphere from the books. It's a perfect blend of exploration, crafting, and survival. I play it for the single player experience exclusively and it has completely hooked me.

This game has a tremendous amount of charm. The characters are ducking fantastic, and the setting is simple yet engaging. The combat definitely scratches that Xcom itch. I hope to see many more Years to come.

It was a long wait for this game. Honestly I didn't think it was going to make it at all, and I had just about chalked up my kickstarter pledge as a donation to the Cole's, who had played a such a big role in my childhood gaming with the Quest for Gloy games. I even went on a tour of the Sierra headquarters once as a kid, and saw them animating QFGIII.

So the game finally arrives and I'm a bit hesitant to play it. I didn't even want to touch the beta. But them someone told me that it really is like a time management adventure game with a great sense of humor, and I finally dived in. The game is super charming if you have a decent punny bone, and the combat was actually better implemented than any of the other QFG games. It was a great experience, very charming and well worth the price I paid. I know it was hard for the Coles to get it done, and I understand if they decide to retire for good, but I hope we see another year of Hero-U.

It took me about 30 hours to complete, but there is a fair amount of replayability, and those were an excellent 30 hours.
