+ Poziomy są wspaniale wykonane.
+ Mega klimatyczna muzyka.
+ Satysfakcjonujący system walki.
+ Nieustanne doskonalenie stylu gry.
+ Masa buildów do wypróbowania.
+ Masa unikalnych broni dla każdej kariery, każdej postaci.
+ Cztery kariery dla każdej postaci.
+ Postacie, w które gracz się wczuwa.
+ Każda z postaci ma swoje unikalne kwestie.
+ Każda z postaci ma swoją unikalną osobowość.
+ Masa ukrytych znajdziek w grze.

A good game, even for people who only have two working grey cells like me.

After 11 years of playing WoW on both private servers and global, with 14 alts, spread across 4 realms, and an average of 900 hours played on each character. I was getting a little tired and wanted to try a new MMORPG. I decided to try FFXIV.

I noticed quite a few changes at the beginning; some better, some worse for me.

+
  1. FFXIV focuses more on story than any other MMO game I've played. You are the clear protagonist of this world. You must progress through the main story to unlock the rest of the content. You meet an endless number of characters, many of whom have distinct personalities. Some will always be there for you, others will go their own way. All content in the game has its own threads as you progress, stories that make progress more dynamic and interesting (professions, classes, raids, special weapons).

  2. All past content is taken care of. Something that frustrated me in WoW and was one of the main reasons I decided to switch was that I felt like the old content had been "forgotten". In FFXIV, on the other hand, you can easily enjoy all the previous content. Even if there are things that need to be done as a group and it takes a little longer to find someone, there will almost always be people willing to help.

  3. There are event-related rewards, but most of them can be earned by farming normal game content. If you didn't manage to get any of the exclusive items in time, they'll probably be made available again at a later event (although this may take a year or a few years). I'm not entirely sure, but it seems to me that rewards that are no longer available can be bought from the in-game cosmetic shop (albeit for real money).

  4. The community is very friendly and open most of the time. Some dungeons and fights have videos, but your companions always wait for you to watch them before continuing (unless you're in a large raid, then don't be afraid to watch the video.) You can join the fight later).

  5. You don't have to create multiple characters if you don't want to. You can have all the professions and classes in the game in one character. What class your character has at any given time depends on the weapon or tool they have equipped. You can set weapon and armour sets for different classes, and change them in an instant. Each class has its own level and story that you progress through.

  6. Some of the boss fights, especially as you progress through the expansions, are amazing. They always offer new mechanics, and some include in-game events with little cinematic cutscenes or QTEs (don't panic, they're not complicated at all).

  7. You can have your own house. The plot system is not the best in the world, they are limited and it is very difficult to find any available to buy. But if you do, you can decorate it with furniture and customize its exterior. There are three zones available for home ownership (four from the next expansion). For many people, the late game is all about decorating amazing homes.

  8. There is plenty of content available in the game. Chocobos can be customised in colour and outfit, with their own classes and skills to help in battle. Mounts and creatures, raids for 24 players, normal raids for 8 players, battles with unique bosses, dungeons, squads of soldiers under your command, tribes you can help improve their settlements, customisable assistants to get materials or sell on the market, Hildibrand's comic plots (some of the best in the game). Even the casino has plenty of interesting content: card games, lots of mini-games and events, fashion tournaments, minion battles and even chocobo races you can take part in. For a more demanding challenge, there are many bosses on extreme difficulty levels that require you to learn their mechanics inside out in order to successfully defeat them.

  9. If I had to pick one thing in particular, it would be the story. One of the best stories in video games, with characters that evolve and remain memorable, a world in constant change and progression. The subplots of the various content in the game are great too. Many characters go through great arks of transformation and redemption, and the villain from Shadowbringers, the latest expansion, is amazing. While it may not seem like it at the beginning of the game, the story goes far beyond good and evil, light and dark. As you begin to understand the motivations of the enemies, your perspective changes greatly.

-
  1. I came across less expansive maps and less free exploration, with some invisible walls in some places.

  2. At first, I also found the graphics a little hard to adapt to. Personally, I noticed the somewhat poor saturation in the colour palette. I don't know if this has improved over time or if I just got used to it, but it's no longer a problem for me.

  3. The plot in ARR, the base game, focuses largely on introducing the game world, its races and cities, the factions and the problems they face. It can be a little heavy-handed at first, though as you progress you'll see character development, finding more interesting and gripping moments. The plot in the later patches of ARR, in my opinion, improves a lot. I love the way they introduce you to the next expansion, Heavensward.

  4. I particularly liked in WoW the difference in perspective between the Horde and the Alliance, how their viewpoints created very different stories depending on which side you played. In FFXIV, on the other hand, you are a Warrior of Light. You can choose the zone you start the game in, but the storyline is linear and the same for everyone as you progress.

  5. PVP content isn't very relevant to the game and tends to make for long queues.

  6. FFXIV's main story is one of the most important aspects of the game, perhaps even the most important. To unlock content, you have to progress through the game.

  7. One of the key things might be the language. It's not in English, and the English used is not always the easiest.
