i want to start off by saying that i love the theme and the characters, and i'm recommending this as a short and sweet VN that i'm sure most people will enjoy! however, i personally feel that the execution of the story and the choices were handled poorly. i wound up having to find a guide online to see all the endings because the choices were so jumbled and it was difficult to remember which combination i'd already tried.

i was also disappointed by the "forever" ending, it felt very rushed. i think the story up until that point could've been longer, to give the player time to get to know the two love interests a bit better, and perhaps squeeze in more interactions between elias and taylor. it would've helped make the polycule ending make more sense and not feel like it was an afterthought.
i also feel that it would've been better to make the wedding preparations non-consequential, rather than the deciding factor to which ending you wind up with. the confrontation at the end would've been the best place to put in the final choice for the player to make, so they can get the ending /they/ want without so much fuss, but i digress.

all in all, this was an enjoyable game! if you like cute, flustered boys then i'm sure you'll like this VN. i complained about having to find a guide but the creator /does/ already have one available, and it wasn't complicated after that, i just feel that it could've been made a bit more straightforward

this was a really fun and engaging experience! i just defeated all the bishops (including you know who) and it's incredibly fulfilling, there's no greater feeling than unlocking that statue and sticking it up like a trophy of my accomplishment. this will definitely be a game i play over and over again! i only wish that baal and aym could become followers after defeat, they're pretty fun bosses!

having played wolfquest classic as a child, i had high expectations, and this game met every single one of them and more. any bugs are swiftly ironed out, and new tweaks to the gameplay/quality of life features come out on a pretty consistent basis, a testament to the team's dedication to making a worthy sequel to this timeless series.

however, this is not the game for you if you like your games to be high-octane and fast-paced. i've found myself rather bored in between hunting, raising my pups, and big events such as territory invasions and predator attacks. while the game is fun and has its intense moments, it's slow paced and not for the impatient. although, it's my belief that the game doesn't have to be completely full of action to be perfect the way it is - the developers set out to make a realistic nature simulator, and they nailed it!

it's a beautiful renovation to one of my favorite childhood games, and i look forward to finally playing the third episode!

(11/22/2024) edit after the saga has come out: i'm only playing the public beta for the saga, but even still it is EVERYTHING i could've ever hoped for! my original review definitely still stands!

pretty fun, however i have a suggestion. the solitude of single player and the vastness of the maps combined with the safe routine put me at ease. they should betray your trust by putting a scary werewolf or something in the map and have it run up on you out of nowhere, i'd laugh

i can't tell teldryn that his companionship has been meaningful to me, and that i genuinely enjoy his banter and presence. i built a house to numb the pain. 10/10, just like real life

the perfect game to unwind and relax with if you like something engaging but non-threatening and calming. the game gives you plenty to do and has its time constraints, but the few penalties it dishes out for mistakes are hardly punishing, and leave plenty of room for you to make up for it next time. but the game isn't out to get you or make you think you have to go a certain way, it gives you the opportunity to come up with a routine, make plans, and manage your farm the way you see fit with some helpful suggestions to make life easier along the way. the characters are lovable and interesting, and getting to know them has been the extra dash of spice my experience needed. i'll be honest, i only came for sebastian, but i stayed for the charming atmosphere the townies created, just seeing them mill about makes everything feel so alive.

9/10, my only qualm is that i can't give my good horsie a treat :(
