Of the many games to have come out this last decade, few have marked me and made me return as much as The Banner Saga.
The story is simple yet convoluted. You start simply enough, and then each chapter keeps on making you and your choice feel deeper and deeper.
The music is a slap in the face of all those soundtrack leaving no impression. Play the game seriously once, and anytime you listen to the soundtrack out of the game, you WILL recognize a moment, or scene, or choice you made during gameplay, even out in the car or wherever you heard that.
The animation is a lovely callback to older, almost Disney-like cartoon, frame-by-frame animation. The story is told in magnificent slides, virtual-novel like, and the level of details in those, or the battles sprites is almost mind-boggling.
The gameplay is difficult, especially on high difficulties (heck, I never got to beat the game on hard, I suck at the combat too much). To me, the real gameplay was most certainly the choices. Make a wrong step and suddenly your best fighter's down the cliff. Take a wrong turn and half your caravan will die of hunger. Your choices have weight, and getting a "perfect" (no hero deaths and as little caravan loss as possible, while keeping high morale) is a real difficult thing, even on the easier combat difficulty.

To be fair, I am still ever so slightly annoyed the game is so... short. But playing it back to back with the sequels makes it MORE than certainly worthwhile, and recommended to all.

When Battlefield, CoD and other FPS came out, replacing Unreal, Doom and other, older style FPS, Lucasart soon came up with their version of the genre. Soon after, we were treated to Battlefront II, to this day one of the best multiplayer Star Wars shooters. Take your place in the (potentially, depending on the settings of the match) massive battle of two clashing armies, battling Imperial Stormtroopers as a lowly Rebel Fighter, or destroying battledroid after battledroid as you get to wear the iconic clone armor. But what took the second game of the title higher was the addition of space battles and heroes. For the first time, assaulting an Imperial StarDestroyer felt just like that, flying your shuttle into the enemy landing bay and assaulting the core systems while others, or yourself, were outside, blasting away at enemies, all expecting to be able to play as iconic characters ranging from Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker to Han Solo and Ig-88.

Recommended for: Fans of the Star Wars universe, modern FPS fans, modders.

Nowadays, the game may have trouble running on newer cards and system. Many mods will help, remember to check http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Battlefront_II if your game crashes.

Where it all started. LEGO® games really picked up when the first game, covering the original trilogy, came out, and from there on, none missed the beat. The second game, covering the prequels was incredibly fun, if frustrating. Gameplay is now concidered basic, but it isn't so basic as to make this boring, leaving a serie of levels that brim with the kind of magic we've learned to love. Humor at every turn fills the cutscenes, the secrets are well hidden, collectibles aplenty, characters out the wazoo.

Recommended for: Fans of the LEGO® games that want to experience the origin of it all, fans of Star Wars® games.

Possibly the best LEGO® game to date. Despite using a weaker part of the franchise as basis (Clone Wars, compared to the actual Movies), the game is surprisingly diverse, even introducing a new gameplay element: RTS sections that end up being very enjoyable, despite the "hands in" approach (no god view, no micro management). Strong character and powers roster, a lengthy campaign (though only covering the first season of the show), many side missions and hidden collectibles make for a most fun game!
Recommended to: Fans of LEGO® games, fan of Star Wars® games, anyone wanting to pass a good time!
