Be advised. Riesz outfit DLC is not the original from SD3-Trials of Mana. (Leotard bottom is missing)
Do not buy unless you want to stare at Careena's granny panties.
The game was advertised as uncensored by the studio head. This isn't true.
With the exception of a single character, every other female outfit is largely modest and safe.
Combat is cheesy, casual and unrewarding. And the visuals, areas and exploration look overblown, westernized and generic.
Warning: Crashes are frequent.
Research and Inform your purchase.

A game with decent potential hampered by nerf-happy, control-freak devs and a trash publisher.

No remake or cashgrab will ever top this masterpiece.
The one true and OG Dead Space experience. Get it ASAP, as it's likely EA may delist it soon.

Pros:
*Ridiculously good looking. Extremely detailed and atmospheric.
*Controls smooth as butter and also remappable. No classic aiming, but I didn't miss it much, tbh.
*Weapon rebalance is excellent, making every gun feel useful and fun.
*Level redesign is good. Could be better. I didn't mind the tram system from the original.

Cons:
*A technical mess with only minor fixes at the time of this writing. Poor performance for high-end rigs.
*Micro to severe stutters during level traversal. It's very noticeable if character runs through several rooms at once.
*Glitchy geometry, some borked collision and missing button prompts when opening certain lockers.
*Enemy design is inferior to the original, removing body horror like exposed organs/nudity and adding clothes to every slasher for some reason.
*Music is great, but sound design is lacking. Missing some punch and generally too quiet even with headphones.
*Intensity director is just a waste of resources since it oftens just spawns extra enemies instead of interesting scare tactics.
*bi-axial zero g movement is cumbersome and only makes exploration difficult.
*YMMV: gore seems toned down compared to the original.
*Enemy AI is wonky and won't always be aggresive (even on hard) making some encounters bonafide target practice.
*Brutes and guardians were nerfed (a tad too easy, even on hard.)
*Conversely, twitchers were buffed considerably (they are supposed to be fast only, not chonk.)
*Clearance is a good idea on paper, but with no way to create custom waypoints or mark special access rooms in some way, most people will just forget about them. Doesn't help that only the master override rooms have actual, decent loot.
*Enemies are spongy (pre-upgrades) and loot economy is weighted towards credits, making inventory limit a non-issue. For medium and hard, players will rarely run out of inventory space.
*The elephant in the room: Several changes made to appease social politics activists are NOT subtle and have no reason to exist on a game that has no focus on SOPOL:
-Removed female features on necromorphs
-All gender, communal bathrooms
-removal of pinup magazines and posters, including rebranding Peng which originally was akin to a "Playboy" brand.

All that being said, DSR is a good game and a decent tribute to the original game. However, it very clearly is a cash grab predating on nostalgia from Dead Space fans and one that took a little too many liberties for the sake of "modern audiences." I like it, but I can't recommend it in good faith. Not to fans of the series at least.

Crashes to desktop every 10 to 20 minutes regardless of settings or render method.
None of the fixes offered online actually work; ends up crashing one way or another.
It's practically unplayable. I can't honestly recommend this game when it's in this state.
As a side note; I don't remember it crashing on Uplay before the expansion came out.
Maybe they changed something, idk.
