When the last expansion came out, I didn't expect to be back here again writing another review about disappointing Dawntrail is. Dawntrail is unfortunately the outcome of years of toxic fandom denying the right to anyone to criticise FFXIV.

What started as a great game with login issues, has become a game that you don't really want to log into.

Effectively, you are going to spend 35-45 hours watching cutscenes and about 120 mins doing dungeons and trials. You can effectively run past the world as the world mobs aren't threatening and god help you if you don't like the new character, because understand, this isn't your story... This is a story about a cat that's scared of Llamas - and if you don't like it well TOO BAD.

I have played 97 minutes of this game.

All 97 minutes were character creation. I then stopped. I regret nothing.

I'd love to write a great review for this game as it's quite brilliant. Unfortunately you are very unlikely to be able to play the game. Just endless queues to try get onto the server.

It's possible to plan your day in such a manner that you can get in, but beware your game crashes or you lose internet for a second... sometimes it just randomly kicks you off the server anyways.

Really painful to have preorded this game and still be unable to play it 2 weeks after release.

So sad to see another Final Fantasy game tossed out unplayable to make an extra bit of money, hordes of complaints on the community hub about this game not running and in my case, I got to see the ingame for just a moment before it crashed without giving any sort of error description. I think it's best to leave these memories were they where...

DayZ was supposed to be an epic remastering of the mod, hopefully doing for the Survival genre, what Dota2 did for Mobas. Unfortunately it simply doesn't offer any more than being a laggy, buggy, less complete version of its mod.

Do yourself a favor, if you want to play excellent games like the original and have better graphics, buy Arma3 and go crazy.
